Bowen Technique

This treatment can be used by Physiotherapists who have undergone additional training in the Bowen technique. It is an holistic therapy is always carried out following a full assessment and diagnosis of the patients condition.

The Bowen technique is a gentle manipulation of soft tissue over specific points which often correspond with acupuncture points. The Physiotherapist will choose which points to stimulate each treatment, depending on the patient’s condition and general health at that time.

Sports Physiotherapy

Like medicine, Physiotherapy is becoming a multi specialised profession. Sports Physiotherapists specialise in sports injuries and the rehabilitation required to get athletes and active people back to their sport as quickly and safely as possible. Their treatments also aim to minimise the risk of injury reoccurrence.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral TherapyThis treatment is focused on the cranio-sacral system (or nervous system). As the spinal cord extends from the brain to the sacrum (the base of the spine’ bone) hands will be placed in the two extremities of the system during the treatment. It is a refined and subtle type of Osteopathic treatment that encourages the release of stresses throughout the body as light and gentle manipulation is applied. Relieving the main restrictions allows then the body to a better adaptation from the everyday life stresses.

Massage

MassageAnyone who has ever experienced a proper massage knows how wonderful it can feel; but there are physiological benefits to this ancient form of treatment that go far beyond a pleasant sensation. Use of skilled and focussed strokes and pressure points can begin to undo chronic muscular tension and postural holding that may be of many years standing.

The key is that massage increases bodily awareness, and once aware the recipient is more able to relax and let go of areas that are working too hard. Tired, stiff and aching muscles are warmed and softened by an increase in healthy circulation. Once a state of relaxation has been achieved, it is much easier for the recipient to then reproduce this for themselves.

Physiotherapy

PhysiotherapyPhysiotherapists undergo a three to four year course enabling them to assess and diagnose conditions relating to joints and soft tissues. Their training continues throughout their working life as they will then regularly attend post graduate courses in order to keep their skills and knowledge up to date.

They use a variety of techniques to help improve the condition of muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and joints that are not functioning normally. A home exercise programme for the patient usually plays a key role in rehabilitation.

A Physiotherapy session may include : mobilisation of joints and soft tissues, massage, ultrasound, acupuncture, exercise or complementary therapies.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a health care profession registered by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). It is suitable for almost anyone and can contribute to alleviating an enormous range of conditions and injuries.

Osteopathy is a holistic, manual therapy based on a unique system of assessment, diagnosis and treatments. It combines a scientific knowledge of the orthodox medical sciences with specialised methods of evaluation and manual treatment. The aim of the treatment is to allow the body to use its own self healing mechanisms, bringing the patient back into balance/ alignment.

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

CBTNLP attitudes and techniques can provide freedom from old habits, fears and limiting beliefs and give structure for new and more empowering ways for you living the life you desire. Offering you the choice in ways you can communicate and how you feel and respond.
