Ayr Therapy & Consultancy
I have around ten years experience of working in an inpatient psychiatric service with adults with severe and enduring mental health problems. Prior to this I worked with children with learning and behavioural difficulties within educational settings.

I also work as a Psychological Associate with Dr Jennie Guise (DysGuise Ltd) conducting psychological assessments with individuals and organisations for various educational/learning difficulties. I also provide clinical supervision to students on the diploma in CBT at the Centre of Therapy, Glasgow and offer training workshops for individuals and organisations. I offer specifically tailored therapy for clients based on each individual's own unique needs and circumstances. I offer an integrated approach to therapy, drawing on a number of psychological and counselling orientations, for the treatment of a variety of psychological difficulties.

Qualifications:
  • MSc Applied Forensic Psychology
  • Diploma in Counselling and Groupwork: A Cognitive Behavioural Approach
  • Pg Cert. Psychology & Mental Health
  • BSc Psychology (Hons)

Therapy
As Ayr's Cognitive Behavioural Therapy service, I provide CBT and other psychological therapies for individuals and employees within organisations, for a very broad range of psychological, emotional and interpersonal difficulties such as depression, anxiety, phobias, relationship problems, confidence issues, low self esteem, trauma, abuse and more. I am a fully qualified and accredited CBT therapist (Cognitive Behavioural Therapist). I am accredited by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) and a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I have also trained in various other psychological therapies which allows me to take an integrative approach which is tailored specifically to the needs of each individual.

Supervision
I offer individual supervision sessions for other counsellors and therapists from my premises in Ayr. I currently provide supervision to students on the diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the Centre of Therapy, Glasgow. Clinical supervision is an essential part of therapeutic practice and is a requirement for accreditation with many lead and regulatory organisations such as the British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapists (BABCP). Clinical supervision allows therapists to discuss clinical cases and reflect on their practice in a supportive environment.

Psychological Assessments
Working in conjunction with DysGuise Ltd, I can offer specialist psychological assessments and advice to assist in the identification of specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia or dyscalculia in both children and adults. Cognitive assessment can allow extensive feedback to be provided on a person’s abilities. Educational assessments are offered for primary and secondary school pupils, as well as for students in Colleges and Universities and specialist assessments can be conducted in the Business sector.

Training Workshops
I can provide various training workshops to individuals and organisations on a range of mental health-related topics. I can also provide tailored workshops on request. Workshops can be run in-house or at my premises and I am able to be flexible with times, locations and numbers.
