Fertility

Traditional Chinese Medicine to promote pregnancy and relieve the suffering of women has been used for thousands of years...

Guanyuan is a traditional acupuncture point on the tummy. Guanyuan is one of the principle acupuncture points which assists conception. Guanyuan’s point action is strengthening the Kidney energy, and is therefore used if we identify a Kidney Deficiency. A Kidney deficiency may present in a woman who is in her late thirties or with poor ovarian reserve.

Shuidao - also known as childs door, is a point used to help irregular periods, painful periods and to promote fertility.

Zusanli a traditional acupuncture point below the knee, has an ability to support the proper nourishment of the whole body. It is often used while optimising reproductive health and to increase the chances of IVF working. This acupuncture point is useful to help promote a calming influence and reduce stress levels in women. Zusanli is often combined with other acupuncture points on a day 2 or day 3 embryo transfer and was used in a research trial.

Acupuncture for IVF/ICSI

Lianne provides an integrated approach to the treatment and management of reproduction; she has found that complementary medicine and a thorough understanding of reproduction are in fact essential fundamentals of patient care.

With acupuncture Lianne’s initial goal is to get your body as balanced as possible, from pathology through to health working to improve the quality of eggs, improve blood flow and reduce stress levels.
Lianne has been working extensively with people undergoing IVF since 2004 where one of her first patients was a lady undergoing IVF at the university clinic she developed a strong interest from there, she has helped many couples become parents and is currently doing a clinical audit. Lianne has developed strategies and continues to do so in order to help people achieve their goals.

The IVF units Lianne is familiar with clients attending are mainly CARE fertility Nottingham/Peterborough and Bourn Hall Cambridgeshire. A small portion of clients attend clinics in London such as ARGC, Oxford and UCL.
