Complementary and alternative medicine comes in many forms. I am often asked what herbal medicine is. Herbal medicine is the use of a preparation or herbal remedy to treat disease. An aid for the body to reach a natural balance of health. It can give support when the stress and strains of life takes it's toll on the systems of the body. There are many different western medicinal herbs from Europe and North America that can be used for many conditions.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT A CONSULTATION
An initial consultation is approximately an hour. A full case history is taken about the presenting condition and the past medical history of the patient. Any medication being taken is recorded.All necessary examinations are carried out to help with diagnosis. A herbal remedy is prescribed to suit the individual patient's needs that will not interact with any medication currently prescribed by the doctor. Follow up consultations will be necessary to check the patient's progress and adapt the herbs accordingly to the patient's needs as the condition improves.
Initial consultation £35 (approx 1hr)
Follow ups £20 (approx 30 mins)
Herbal prescriptions approximately £6 per week
Creams approximately £2 per week
