SERVICES

Welcome to Anvil Consultancy

I practice from a complementary health centre and can see people at times to suit themselves eg evening and weekends.

The initial interview is at a reduced fee and is the opportunity for an exchange of information and for the client to meet me, ask questions, learn what will be involved in therapy, the number of likely sessions (usually between 4 and 6) and costs, and to make an informed decision as to whether or not to proceed with therapy.

My experience has led me to conclude that hypnotherapeutic techniquess can help to alleviate an extra-ordinarily wide range of problems. Should you be suffering in any way and finding it difficult to bring about improvements, then it would be worth while finding out if hypnosis can help. You have nothing to lose and maybe a great deal to gain.

Clinical or Medical Problems

(Also now offering help for people preparing for surgury)

The wonders of modern medicine are not far short of miraculous. Equally as miraculous are the wonders of your own body’s ability to heal itself.

Hypnotherapy complements conventional medicine

Hypnotherapeutic techniques are increasingly being used to complement medical treatments. Techniques such as relaxation and imagery can speed up healing, moderate pain, and have been known to bring about ‘miraculous’ improvements.

I have been able to help clients:
  • to marshal their immune system’s strengths to counteract cancer
  • to moderate their immune system’s malfunctioning in auto-immune conditions such as lupus
  • to reduce the effects of IBS
  • to improve and manage chronic pain
  • to ease pregnancy and child-birth
  • to reduce and stabilise blood pressure
  • to improve the management of diabetes
  • and more…
Find out how hypnotherapy could help you

If you are suffering from any severe or chronic medical condition call me and discover for yourself how hypnotherapeutic techniques might be able to help you to take a more active role in recovery from, or management of, the condition. You can then decide if you want to learn and use such techniques. And actively doing something to help yourself is likely to provide a huge boost to your morale.

Call me for an initial informative consultation to learn how I may be able to help.

Emotional Problems

Scientific knowledge now indicates that when we respond to any stimulus, our first reaction is an emotional one.

We feel things before we think about them

Those initial feelings colour our thoughts and our reactions. And how we feel reflects our beliefs about ourselves and about the world we encounter.

Our beliefs are ‘set’ before we are five years old. If our beliefs are positive ones and we believe ourselves and the world to be generally ok, then we will generally cope well with whatever life throws at us.

Learning to be more positive

If, however, our beliefs are negative and we think of ourselves and the world as not-ok, then our ability to live as fully as we might, will be damaged. We then need help, as adults, to learn and understand how to be more positive in our feelings about ourselves and the world around us and how to behave in order to make the best of our lives.

Hypnosis can help you to do this.

Using hypnosis, I have helped people:
  • to raise their self-esteem,
  • boost their confidence – at work, in relationships;
  • to understand why they feel and behave as they do;
  • to strengthen their ability to put negative emotions in the past, where they belong
  • to recover from depression
If you are suffering from depression, low self-esteem and lack of confidence it would do no harm to discover for yourself how hypnotherapeutic techniques might help you achieve a more positive outlook on life.

Contact me for a no obligation, friendly interview. You can then decide for yourself if you want to learn use such techniques. Call me for an initial informative consultation to learn how I may be able to help.

Psychological problems

As we go through life we develop habits and routines which, for the most part, help us to feel secure and confident. Some, however, have undesirable consequences, such as the life-threatening risks of cigarette smoking, and obesity or, they are ‘simply’ embarrassing, such as nail biting.

We may also find that there are parts of us which are not in our conscious control e.g. when we experience a panic attack, or performance nerves when speaking in public or taking an exam or driving test.

Using hypnosis to break unwanted habits

Hypnosis can help you break your unwanted habits. It can help you gain control over all aspects of your life. It can also instil ‘good’ habits such as improved concentration and the ability to re-call information.

Using hypnosis I have helped people to:
  • stop smoking
  • lose weight
  • stop biting their nails/pulling out their hair/chewing the skin on their fingers
  • overcome panic attacks
  • pass their driving test;
  • overcome phobias and irrational fears;
  • pass exams;
  • and more…
If you want to break an unwanted habit or gain control of some aspect of yourself, it would do you no harm to discover for yourself how hypnotherapeutic techniques could help you achieve your goal.

Call me for your initial, no obligation, informative consultation to learn how I may be able to help.

Stress Related Problems

We live in stressful times.

Career pressures, financial pressures, family pressures, and the generally fast pace of life can combine to over-load our capacity to recover from the physiological changes that our bodies make in responding to stressful situations.

Chronic, un-remitting, stress can damage you

It can lead to a wide range of physical and emotional complaints and to serious illness if allowed to continue over a long period. Stress will exacerbate any medical condition and can be a factor contributing to infertility, depression, excessive drinking, over-eating, and reduced libido. The list could go on.

Being able to relax is arguably the best counter-measure to stress.

Hypnotherapeutic and cognitive behavioural counselling techniques are very effective in reducing the adverse effects of chronic stress, such as anxiety states, panic attacks, loss of confidence etc. and learning better ways of managing stressful situations.

Using hypnosis I help people to:
  • learn to relax
  • reduce anxiety and panic
  • overcome stress-related depression;
  • learn more effective stress-management strategies
  • alleviate any condition that is being made worse by stress
If you are feeling under pressure and stressed-out it would do no harm to discover for yourself how relaxation and hypnotherapeutic techniques can help you manage to reduce the pressure. You can then decide if you want to learn and use such techniques.
