Welcome to A Mother Is Born

At A Mother Is Born we’re excited to have created a pathway through motherhood that addresses the wants, needs and desires of women leading complex lives.

Women are increasingly waiting until into their 30’s and 40’s to start a family and there is little to prepare the often independent, successful woman of this age for the dramatic changes that await her. Since we understand the challenges you’ll be presented with, our mission is to support you through this stage of your life and beyond, to enable you to fully immerse yourself in the joy of motherhood.

Our superb team consists of qualified Hypnobirthing Teachers, Master NLP Practitioners, Hypnotherapists, an EFT Practitioner, Life Coaches, a Recruitment Consultant, and perhaps most importantly, experienced mums!

Hypnobirthing

For a more relaxed, natural and comfortable child-birth

Hypnobirthing is a wonderfully empowering and effective method for childbirth. It is deeply relaxing and will allow your mind and body to work together as nature intended, significantly increasing the chances of you and your baby experiencing a natural, calm and rewarding birth.

In taking responsibility and giving yourself an informed choice you will be in control and be able to make the decisions that are right for you.

Vitally, you will learn how to release negative birth programming and/or experiences, also how to trigger your body’s natural relaxant chemicals during labour.

Post Natal 1-2-1

Congratulations on your new arrival and welcome to your new role as a mum!

Women give birth every day, so it’s no big deal is it? …. Yet for you it probably feels as though this is the most enormous life event and things will never be quite the same again.

The experience of labour, giving birth and meeting your baby will undoubtedly replay in your mind, stirring either positive or negative emotions, depending upon how you feel it went. It’s perfectly normal for the early days to seem like an emotional rollercoaster full of highs and lows, which at times can be overwhelming. Your hormones are raging and your body will be in the process of healing, re-balancing and recovering.

Mum’s Concierge

The pace of life is fast and when you go out to work there never seem to be enough hours in the day……at least that’s what you used to believe before you had your baby! Now you’re on call 24/7.

Ideally, you want to just “be” with your new baby and the continued time to bond is vital for his or her healthy development. You’re told to sleep when baby sleeps, which sounds great in theory doesn’t it! The reality is a never ending cycle of washing, sterilizing, ironing, cleaning, shopping, food preparation and so on. Oh, to have an extra pair of hands.

It may initially seem as though you’ll be at home with a young baby forevermore, yet with the blink of an eye that first birthday is upon you. Those early days really are short lived and we encourage you to make the most of them. If you don’t dust for a fortnight, it really isn’t the end of the world…..just sign your baby’s name in the dust, it’ll make you smile each time you walk past!

Relationships

Relationship Care Program

Healthy intimate relationships do not just happen. In fact all relationships require focus and attention if they are to grow and develop and you have to actively guide the direction of your relationships to make them fulfilling.

The demands and challenges that arise with a new baby frequently reduce the amount of quality time you spend together as a couple. Long term neglect of your intimate relationship will cause it to decay, and when either partner’s needs are not being met the relationship becomes vulnerable.

Weight Management

Post Pregnancy

Women’s bodies change as a result of pregnancy. We gain weight, our shape can permanently change and it can even feel like we’ve ended up with someone else’s figure. In the early months following the birth of your baby we highly encourage you to focus on simply enjoying being a new mum. Eat as healthily as you can manage, participate in some gentle exercise and you’ll aid your body in its recovery and feel more energised. The more you succumb to the pressure to lose your baby weight in next to no time, the more you’ll be your own worst critic and be unhappy at a time you should be celebrating in the miracle of life.
