SERVICES

Welcome to Allium Herbal Medicine Clinic

Herbal Medicine can help you with many health conditions both physical and emotional which you may feel are holding you back or preventing you from fully enjoying your life. An ancient natural therapy using whole plant extracts, Herbal Medicine can be used to treat
  • digestive and circulatory problems
  • skin complaints
  • insomnia
  • stress and emotional issues
  • hormonal problems
  • including PMS
  • menopausal symptoms
  • PCOS and endometriosis
  • musculo-skeletal aches and pains
  • respiratory conditions and many more common conditions.
Herbal Medicine seeks to treat your mind, body and spirit as one. The aim of the consultations and treatment is to endeavour to find and treat the underlying causes of your ill health, rather than suppressing your symptoms. The herbs are used in a gentle way that supports the healing mechanisms within your body allowing your body and soul to regain balance and to begin it's own healing process.

Patients of all ages can benefit, from infants to the very elderly. Those already taking orthodox medications from their doctor may also be treated and only herbs which would not interact with any of these medications would be prescribed.

During your fist consultation, which would last around an hour, a detailed history is taken, details not only of the present condition but your wider medical history, medications, lifestyle, diet and emotional health.

The herbs themselves are usually given as a tincture (a blend of herbal extracts in an alcohol/water base) or as a tea. Capsules and tablets are sometimes used, as are creams, lotions and ointments when required. Often you will also be advised of any dietary or lifestyle changes which may help your condition and support your healing.

Regular meetings allow us to see how you are doing and to alter the prescription as required. These regular meetings also allow us to build a relationship of trust and understanding. An important aspect of the consultation process is allowing you the space and time to tell your story in a safe and comfortable environment.

If you would like to make an appointment to see me or would like to have a chat about whether Herbal Medicine is suitable for you please either give me a call or drop me an e mail, I would be happy to hear from you.
