SERVICES

You can call on 07875 596420 or 01892 540424 for your FREE 15 minute telephone consultation where you have an opportunity to speak informally about whatever is troubling you and to decide if this is this is the right choice, so you can then move forward into a healthier and calmer life. Take the first step towards a healthier you.

Finding someone that you’re comfortable talking to is as individual as you are. We don’t always hit it off with everyone we meet and developing relationships can take time, allowing trust and respect to grow.

The same is true of counselling. Every counsellor is an individual and will work with their own style. Our first meeting will be one where can explore this. It allows both parties to decide if they are able to work together successfully. By making an appointment you remain in control. It simply gives you a place to begin asking questions that may have been difficult in the past.

The work in therapy is non-judgemental, open to all beliefs and creeds and the aim is to help with the unfolding of the heart, the development of confidence, self-belief, and the acceptance and exploration of the more difficult and hidden areas that can hold us back from feeling truly free.

The BACP code of ethics is adhered to at all times with regular supervision through a BACP accredited supervisor and Confidentiality is of paramount importance at Affinity.

We can help with many issues including:
  • Anger Management
  • Managing changes
  • Addiction
  • Dealing with stress
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bereavement
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Childhood issues
  • HIV/AIDS

How counselling and talking therapies can help you

Counselling can provide a safe place in which to tell your story, to explore the things that you are finding difficult at the moment, and to have the experience of really being heard by someone else. At Affinity Counselling we help you with whatever emotional or psychological issues you may be experiencing whether it is caused by stress, anger, bereavement or any other difficulties.

BACP qualified, I have clinics in Tunbridge Wells, Kent and Wadhurst, East Sussex. We offer a FREE 15 minute telephone consultation where you have an opportunity to speak informally about whatever you are struggling with and to see how we can help you move forward. Call 07875 596420 or 01892 540424 to take the first step towards a healthier you.

You as an individual

There are many different ways of seeing and describing counselling and therapy, and many different approaches that aim to help with the most fundamental problems and difficulties that we experience as human beings.

Being heard with empathy and understanding is one of the most healing elements in counselling and therapy. It can also allow you to explore the more painful aspects of your life, and find ways of being more at peace with yourself, living more creatively and consciously, and freeing yourself from the unhelpful emotional patterns that may be holding you back.

Therapy is a chance to really be heard, to tell, or maybe re-tell, your life’s experiences in a way that can gradually allow them to make more sense, and be transformed into acceptance. This will often involve re-connecting with the deeper unconscious aspects of yourself that have been buried along the way, as you have grown up and learnt to live life.

How We Work

Time & Money

The cost per session is:

£50.00 for one hour
£65.00 for couples for one hour

Missed and cancelled sessions

Missed and cancelled sessions unless re-scheduled (and subject to my availability), are payable in full. There is no fee for scheduled holidays. In the case of the client giving 48 hrs notice, (and the reason for cancellation is an emergency), the fee may be reduced by half.

Making an appointment

Making an appointment couldn’t be easier. Call me on 01892 540424, or you can call or text me on 07875 596 420. You can also e-mail me at enquiries@affinitycounselling.co.uk. Please note that all forms of communication are confidential.

I may be in session when you call, and may therefore be unable to answer the phone. However, please do leave a message stating your name and give me a suitable time and number to call you back on. I’ll try and get back to you the same day, or the following day if you call after 9pm.

If text or e-mail is easier, please do use these methods. I would like to be able to talk to you before we meet, so please do state a time and leave a suitable number on which I can contact you.
Courage and commitment

The decision to embrace counselling takes a great deal of personal commitment and courage. Individuals who seek help typically carry deep and sensitive scars, and allowing the gentle process of exploration of these scars can be painful, so much so that some fail to continue in counselling, or make excuses (consciously and unconsciously) in order to avoid that pain.

Bathing a wound in salt water hurts, but the result is healing. In the same way, those who gain true benefit from counselling must have the courage to accept pain in order to gain healing.

Counselling is not a quick fix or a magic medicine. You may not see real results for a number of weeks or months, and some clients can remain in counselling for many months or years. Be prepared to commit time and money to your mental health, just as you would for your physical health by attending a gym or going to the doctor or dentist.

If you need help with any of the above
