Traditional Acupuncture for Health and Well-Being
About Me
My name is Victoria Johnson and I am a fully registered Traditional Acupuncturist practising in Tynemouth.
I trained at The Northern College Of Acupuncture in York, where I graduated in 2008 with a Distinction in Chinese Medicine.
I am experienced in treating a wide range of conditions and am a member of The Newcastle Fertility Network offering support to Clients undergoing treatment for Fertility Issues.
I offer evening and weekend appointments as well as some home visits, where possible.
Acupuncture
Traditional acupuncture can help restore balance and promote physical and emotional harmony.
Acupuncture is an ancient form of medicine which originated in China over 2,000 years ago where it is still used in mainstream healthcare, both on its own and in combination with Western Medicine
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body to regulate the flow of ‘qi’, your body’s vital energy. For a number of lifestyle and environmental reasons, qi can become disturbed, depleted or blocked, which can result in symptoms of pain and illness.
Patients regularly report improvements in other aspects of their health as well as the condition they sought treatment for.
Patients also describe feeling a sense of well-being and use Acupuncture as a form of preventative medicine.
There is a growing evidence base of clinical research confirming the effectiveness of Acupuncture.
In 2009 the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence recommended that acupuncture should be made available on the NHS, as a cost-effective short-term treatment for the management of early, persistent non-specific lower back pain.
