Chiropractic care can alleviate back, joint and muscle pain through the manipulation of joints (known as ‘adjustments’). However manipulation will not be the only procedure your chiropractor will employ in the course of your care. Longer treatment times allow HomeChiropractor to offer a rounded care package which may also include massage, traction, postural advice, lifestyle advice and an individual rehabilitative exercise programme which can help avoid problems from recurring.
In order to devise a treatment plan perfectly suited to your needs, HomeChiropractor takes into consideration your home and work environments, sporting activities, hobbies, and overall health status before embarking on a treatment plan, in co-operation with you, the patient.
What to expect
HomeChiropractor is a mobile chiropractic service. Once you have arranged an appointment, your chiropractor will visit you in your home or workplace.
Please ensure there is space for a treatment bench to be set up, you should wear loose comfortable clothes, or a gown can be provided if you wish.
Your consultation will start with a detailed case history and general medical history. Following this your chiropractor will perform an examination including:- Postural analysis
- Orthopaedic testing
- Neurological testing
- Joint and muscle palpation
- Any other medical examinations deemed necessary e.g. blood pressure
From the case history and examination, your chiropractor will establish a diagnosis. This will be explained to you in plain English, as well as the proposed treatment plan and any aftercare advice.
Then with your consent, we will begin your first treatment, and get you on the road to recovery!
Your Chiropractor
Dr of Chiropractic, Sally Scott started HomeChiropractor after working in private practice in Manchester. She noted that patients needed a service which would better fit in with their busy lives, and a home visit would be more convenient for those with young children, demanding careers or painful conditions which make travel difficult.
Sally believes that patient education is paramount to a successful care plan, and works in partnership with her patients to achieve their health goals. She sees patients as individuals with differing lifestyle, health status and fitness levels, therefore treatment plans must be highly individualised in order to be most effective. Sally spends time with her patients to gain an understanding of their needs, allowing her to offer a higher level of care, rather than a one size fits all approach.
Her passion lies in treatment of pregnant and postnatal women; she has completed various post graduate trainings, via the College of Chiropractors, National Childbirth Trust and The Anglo-European College of Chiropractic. As well as treating for musculoskeletal complaints, she also teaches optimal foetal positioning to her pregnant patients in order
to promote normal birth.
Sally is a member of the British Chiropractic Association, and is registered with the General Chiropractic Council.
