Welcome to Marlow Osteopathic Clinic

About the clinic

Marlow Osteopathic Clinic was founded in 1990 by Deborah Rogers and in 1993 the practice moved to its present location at The Doctors House, Victoria Road in Marlow. Deborah was then joined by Caroline Baker and together they have run the practice for over the last 15 years.

Both Deborah and Caroline graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in London in 1989 and 1990 respectively. Together they have nearly 20 years of individual experience as qualified and State Registered Osteopaths.

The philosophy of Marlow Osteopathic Clinic is to provide a manual from of treatment that is gentle and complementary to conventional medicine. We use a structural and mechanical approach when diagnosing and treating our patients. The longevity and location of the practice within only GP's Surgery in Marlow illustrates that both Deborah and Caroline are respected by the local doctors and have a good working relationship with them.

The practice has sustained its reputation as a caring clinic, where patients can consult experienced osteopaths with the knowledge that their muscular and joint problems will be managed from beginnining to end. Patients are provided with the appropriate treatment and advice for their musculoskeletal pain, whether it is acute or chronic in nature.

What Is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a gentle and effective system of manual treatment that helps the body restore itself to normal function and so alleviates symptoms in the joints and soft tissues. We are mostly recognised for treating spinal pain, in particular back pain and neck pain and associated nerve pain such as sciatica. Our abilities to treat peripheral joints are also well recognised and respected, particularly in the field of sports medicine. We treat shoulders, elbows, wrists and hands, hips, knees ankles and feet whether the problems are sports-related or not.

What Happens?

When you attend the clinic for your initial assessment a thorough medical history will be taken, which coupled with an examination will allow us to diagnose the problems you are experiencing. Using this information, a personalized treatment plan will then be designed to account for your own individual circumstances and condition. We also discuss with our patients how they can improve their lifestyles and prevent further problems from occurring, whether this is through diet, exercise or postural advice.

Who is it For?

Osteopathy can be of benefit to people of all ages, from children to the elderly. Our treatment helps people who have problems relating to their lifestyle whether their symptoms are due to poor posture, repetitive strain or injury either at work or whilst at home. It is extremely beneficial for expectant mothers who can no longer take medication for the aches and pains that pregnancy can bring. Deborah and Caroline have had many collective years of experience treating sports injuries and with the benefit of close links to other professionals offer the sport-person all round care.

We are registered with the General Osteopathic Council and British Osteopathic Association.
