SERVICES

Welcome to Brenda Seaborn. Complementary Health Practitioner

I am a highly qualified complementary health practitioner and have numerous years of experience working as part of a group of practitioners associated with the occupational health departments of our local health authorities.

It is my aim to promote and provide the highest standard of complementary healthcare to both corporate and individual clients. Understanding each individual's needs; responding to them holistically with a professional, caring and friendly approach.

It is paramount that the health and safety of my clients is adhered to at all times. I will always refer clients back to their primary practitioner, in all instances that require their permission for complementary therapy treatment to commence.

I continue to further develop my skills with continual professional development and endeavour to educate myself further in my field to ensure that my clients receive the best possible care.

Giving back to the global community is something I hold dear to my heart and regularly participate in both voluntary and charity work whenever possible.

Meditation

If you have ever wanted to learn how to relax or meditate, have been to a class before and not progressed to the level you would have liked to achieve or felt uncomfortable in a group, then Brenda can offer you a safe and friendly environment in which to learn or further develop your current skills.

You may take also take private sessions at the practice, which are beneficial if you have not practised meditation before and would like a 1:2:1 session on your own before you join a class or if you just wish to receive private tuition.

Reiki

Reiki is the vital life energy which flows through all living things and which can be activated for the purpose of maintaining homeostasis.

The Reiki therapist channels the energy through his or her hands to the recipient, activating the body’s natural ability to repair itself. The vital energy may become weak or blocked by physical or emotional stress and this may lead to symptoms on a physical or emotional level. When a person’s energy is strong and flowing freely, the body and mind are in a positive state of health.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that involves a method of treatment without the use of any medication. It is a science which deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body.

By applying pressure to specific reflex areas found in the feet or hands, it will stimulate the nerve pathways to the brain. This will encourage the body to function efficiently and release any harmful toxins which have built up in the body over time, therefore enabling the body to repair itself, responding more efficiently to stress or illness.

Maternity Reflexology

For most women pregnancy is a joyful time; from conception to birth their bodies adapt with apparent ease, whilst accommodating their child.

For some this can be a time fraught with mixed emotions whilst the body reacts to the hormonal and physical changes that pregnancy imposes upon the body. Anxiety, prolonged bouts of morning sickness or nausea, fatigue and discomfort are amongst a few of the things that some mothers experience.

Maternity reflexology is a specialised form of reflexology; gentle, relaxing treatments designed to help support the body whilst it acclimatises to the changes that pregnancy brings. Offering comfort and stress relief, maternity reflexology can help restore normal blood pressure, balance hormonal levels that fluctuate throughout pregnancy and stimulate the release of endorphins; the body’s own natural pain relief.

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage is a treatment based on old Ayurvedic techniques. It can be administered with or without aromatic oils and was traditionally taught by Indian women to their daughters to encourage maternal bonding and to keep their long hair in beautiful condition.

The massage incorporates deep thumb and finger pressures, working on acupressure points to reduce muscular tension. Friction techniques to encourage good circulation and soothing strokes to reduce stress and fatigue. Working from the upper back , incorporating shoulders, arms and neck, finishing with the head and face.

The therapist will be aware and sensitive to the need of each individual and each treatment will be unique. For most it is a pleasurable experience, usually leaving the client with a feeling of calmness, clarity and well-being.

Corporate Therapies

Data recently collated by the Health and Safety Executive suggests that every year some 563,000 individuals in the UK suffer from work-related stress, depression or anxiety, costing industry millions of pounds.

This clearly indicates that there is a need for Complementary Therapies within the workplace. At banishstress.co.uk we are fully committed to offering corporate clients therapies that are both suitable for your company and environment.
