About Me

I am an accredited psychotherapist and an assistant educational psychologist. I have a number of years experience working with a wide range of client with diverse psychological difficulties. I am a fully accredited member of the British College of Systemic Psychotherapy and Counselling and therefore adhere to a strict code of ethics, receive regular supervision, and am required to continue my professional development. I am also working towards becoming a chartered psychologist.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is an interpersonal intervention used to help clients with mental health, emotional, and behavioural problems. This process focuses on improving an individual’s sense of self and well-being and decreasing the effects of any difficulties they may be experiencing.

Psychotherapy can also help clients to come to terms with and move forward from a diagnosis of a developmental learning disorder.

Psychotherapists build a relationship with clients through a number of techniques including dialogue, empathy, and positive regard in order to help the client to improve their own mental health, emotional health, or relationships.

Psychotherapy is a structured process that occurs between a trained professional and a client. Therapy is normally used in response to a range of clinical disorders or challenging or difficult life events.

Developmental Learning Disorders

Being diagnosed with a learning difficulty can be a challenging experience. As an experienced assistant educational psychologist I have detailed knowledge of the effects of and diagnosis of a wide range of developmental learning disorders. By combining my skills as an assistant psychologist and an accredited psychotherapist I can help clients come to terms with and move forwards from a diagnosis of a learning difficulty.
