SERVICES

Welcome to Helianthus Therapies

I believe in an holistic approach to health and well-being and try to convey this to all my clients through the treatments I perform.

Helianthus Therapies is a professional establishment with a relaxed atmosphere, welcoming all who desire this approach to their health and well-being.

All therapies are carried out in the strictest confidence.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage has been practiced in other parts of the world for over 2000 years and was rediscovered in 1993 by Mary Nelson in Arizona, USA.

This gentle massage using pre-heated iron-rich basalt volcanic stones is said to work on mental, physical and spiritual levels.

The heat from the stones penetrates up to an inch and a half of muscle tissue allowing the therapist to gently work muscles that would otherwise not be accessible.

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy is a multi-faceted form of natural therapy using essential oils of aromatic plants and trees to help restore balance in the body and promote health and serenity.

Essential oils are selected and blended to suit the needs of the individual. Each blend is particular to the needs of the individual on the day of the treatment.

Only the highest quality essential oils from reputable suppliers are used.

Therapeutic Massage

Massage is probably the oldest therapy known to man and has been practised in the Middle and Far East since at least 3000 BC.

The most common use of massage is to relax the body and mind and, in so doing, relieve the strains and tensions of daily life.

Massage may be beneficial to people suffering from back pain, neck pain, muscular aches, headaches, circulatory problems and insomnia to name a few conditions.

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage has been practised in India for over 5000 years. It has long formed part of a daily family ritual, with techniques being passed down from one generation to the next.

The popularity of Indian Head Massage in the West has increased since the 1990s. The traditional massage has been ‘Westernised’ to include the shoulders, upper arms and neck.

During an Indian Head Massage treatment, the client remains fully clothed (preferably wearing a light-weight cotton t-shirt). The use of oils is optional.
