SERVICES

Chiropractic is a fast and effective form of treatment for reducing pain and inflammation and encouraging faster healing/recovery time after injury.

Chiropractic helps the nervous system primarily to function better improving balance, coordination and helping reflexes to work quicker. Sports Men and Women can improve their performance with a course of 6 sessions spaced at weekly and then fortnightly intervals, followed by Routine Chiropractic Maintenance Appointments every 3 months to maintain the benefits of their initial course of treatment. A 100% improvement after a short course of treatment is unlikely but it is normal for patients symptoms to improve by 50-80% which to most patients is a valuable relief. You may feel tired and achy immediately after a session as this is a normal result of having remedial massage and gentle Mctimoney-Corley style manipulation and strict rest for 48 hours after the session, plenty of water/fluids and using natural or prescription pain relieving products will lessen the likelihood of this happening. You may receive advise on footwear and postural correction via prescription of shoe insoles after Emma analyses your range of movement and isolates joint fixations and compensations which affect your gait. Orthotics can help runners and tennis players for example to avoid knee and hip pain. Emma has over 13 years experience treating sportsfolk professionally. She has taught on Chiropractic courses and examined students. Techniques Emma uses include gentle McTimoney, Corley and Upledger Techniques, spinal realignment/remedial massage and trigger point/acupressure style techniques and Intra-Sonic(ultrasound)Sports Injury Therapy. She is a registered Medical Insurance Provider eg BUPA/PPP/AXA/HSA requiring a minimum of 5 years independent experience and an Orthopaedic Surgeons recommendation. Emma is essentially a gentle, informal and light touch orientated practitioner. Emma also has gained qualifications in animal spinal therapies and mobilisation/massage techniques for animals. Emma has sat on various committee's relating to her profession and is still actively involved in promoting the para-professional medical standards of allied/complementary therapists.
