Welcome to Sheffield School of Pilates
The motto is 'Forward with Strength' and the careful holistic approach with regular attendance ensures the motto is self fulfilling - the benefits are tremendous. The school follows the principles and practise of Joseph Pilates, incorporating my past nursing knowledge and experience in working around physical problems to gain benefit for each student. testimonies from clients can be viewed at the School to confirm the benefits.
I also feel there is a gap in the 'market' of training teachers, with regard to the delivery of their knowledge, so developed my own 'Slade Form' to ensure that Teachers did not treat Pilates the same as aerobic classes, i.e. Teachers had to learn to slow down the mind and body to engage with the principles that Joseph Pilates used. I devised my own exercise plans incorporating groups of exercises and I train my Teachers and Students to become proficient in level 1 before moving on to level 2 and beyond. I have seen so many young Teachers pushing clients without understanding the limitations of their clients and was determined to ensure this did not happen within my own Form.
Problems we have helped with previously include, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, problems with the feet, the joints, the back (including scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis), headaches, shoulder problems - the list is endless.
