Welcome to NUTRITION CONSULTANCY

MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE (MLD) THERAPY

My Approach

I have been working as a Nutritional Advisor and Therapist in alternative medicine since 1991. My experience has taught me that each case is different; therefore a personal approach is very important. To benefit most from treatments, it will be advisable to consider a wide range of alternative therapies, such as keinesiology, homeopathy, acupuncture, reflexology, etc.

Generally the most difficult phase is the beginning; people are intimidated by the change of diet, which will restrict them from foods they are addicted to, but once the first phase is over they realise that it is not as difficult as they had imagined. The food they eat becomes more satisfying, wholesome and hence more fulfilling.

Once the body is cleansed with the right diet and follow-up programmes, the client becomes more aware of which foods are complimentary and which are toxic to his/her system; a synergy is achieved.

What is Nutrition

Nutrition means giving yourself the best possible intake of nutrients by diet and supplements with a reasonable lifestyle to allow your body to be as healthy as possible.

By making simple changes in your diet you will experience increased energy levels, improve intelligence and memory; reduce the risk of degenerative diseases like cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes and heart diseases. It enhances the immune system, overcome insomnia, aching joints, frequent colds, skin problems, premature ageing etc. In short, nutrition can help ensure a long and healthy life.

The Treatment

This involves one Nutritional consultation of 1 hour and 3 follow-ups of half an hour. It concentrates on the individual’s case history, family history, present and past dietary patterns and illnesses, environmental factors, lifestyle and professional stress.

A nutritional questionnaire is completed and Keinesiology test is applied prior to the first session. Initial consultation lasts for one hour and involves gathering information, explaining the findings and drawing a diet and supplement programme according to the client’s needs. The treatment is structured in phases so that the client feels comfortable with the changes, easy to follow guidelines, which eventually lead to a better health. The first phase normally includes exclusion, inclusion or avoidance of some foods for a period of time until the body adjusts itself and the symptoms disappear. Supplements are introduced to correct any biochemical imbalances. Most clients initially experience an “adverse reaction”; known as withdrawal syndrome such as headaches, skin rashes, aches and pains, lack of energy and aggravations of the existing symptoms etc. This is for a short period only, which lasts a week; this is simply a symptom of detoxification. Once the withdrawal phase is over a sense of well-being is followed.

In some cases biochemical tests are carried out in well-known laboratories to find the potential imbalances. This will be recommended and discussed in due course. There will always be a telephone back-up to encourage clients to keep-up with the diet and get the support if any problem or question arises.
