SERVICES

Welcome to City Massage

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy massage is a gentle and therapeutic treatment using fragrant essential oils. Essential oils are extracted from flowers, leaves, barks, roots, seeds and resins, and they contain the active ingredient of the plant in a highly concentrated form. Each oil has its own therapeutic property, which has been used for thousands of years to treat a wide range of ailments, alleviate pain and regulate mood. Aromatherapy is recommended to treat conditions affecting the mind, body and emotions. It is an especially good treatment for insomnia, depression and PMT.

Aromatherapy should not be confused with fragrances or perfume oils. Fragrances are often made from chemicals, and lack the therapeutic properties of essential oils. There is more to aromatherapy than lighting a scented candle!

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is designed to reach and realign the deeper layers of muscle tissue and connective fascia, and aims to relieve and release severe tension held in your body. The specialised movements are always used slowly, and can be held at trouble spots for several minutes to achieve muscle release. In particular, deep tissue massage Is used on areas of discomfort and limited mobility, postural problems, and chronic tension that is often found in the neck, shoulders and back.

Diet & Nutrition

A diet and nutrition treatment is recommended br those 01 you who want to maximize your health potential through your daily diet. We explain the importance of wise dietry choices, considered cooking methods and healthy eating and drinking habits. A treatment might mean a complete dietry overhaul, or just some fine tweaking to your current diet - either way, we aim to create a diet that will enhance your mental and physical well-being.

Holistic

Holistic massage can be a soothing, uplifting, rejuvenating or invigorating full-body treatment. The word ‘holistic’ originates from the Greek word ‘holos’, meaning ‘whole’. Thus in a holistic massage treatment, we will consider the numerous aspects that influence your whole life. Your woiking and living environment, sleeping patterns, diet, stress levels, relationships, job, exercise and relaxation patterns all have an affect on your physical, mental and emotional health. Once we have assessed these different aspects of your life, we will tailor a massage to suit you.

Indian Head Massage

Indian head massage is a relaxing and rejuvenating treatnient that reduces mental stress and also releases the accumulated tension in the upper back, the shoulders, neck, scalp and face. This massage has been done for thousands of years in India, and was introduced to the UK in 1973 when a traveling osteopath set about introducing a treatment that worked on and above the neck. It is particularly beneficial for mental fatigue, stress, anxiety, eyestrain, headaches, neck ache and insomnia. It also relaxes and tones the facial muscles and stimulates and nourishes the hair and scalp.

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Drainage Massage (LDM) is a gentle treatment that boosts the flow of lymph around your body, refreshing your immune system and flushing out toxins. Lymph is a clear, slightly yellow fluid that circulates throughout your body, carrying white blood cells and antibodies to your tissues and organs. The white blood cells and antibodies are essential to your immune system and help you fight infection and disease. LDM is a good treatment if you regularty get colds and flu. It is also the ideal treatment to reduce sinus congestion and water retention, puffiness and swelling in any part of the body. In Europe it is a popular beauty treatment used to reduce cellulite, dark circles around the eyes and clear up problem skin.

On-site

On-site massage (or chair massage) is a quick stress-relieving treatment, originally created for office-bound professionals. Based on traditional Japanese acupressure, it has three distinctive qualities. Firstly, the massage is performed over the clothes, without oil, ensuring modesty and convenience without any mess. Secondly, the client sits on a portable and ergonomic chair, especially designed for this type of massage. This means the massage can be done anywhere — in offices, airports, shopping centers, markets, trade shows and fiIn sets. Thirdly, it is a concise treatment, lasting between 15 -30 minutes. This is because your body goes into a deep relaxation mode after 30 minutes of massage, so a shorter treatment ensures that you will feel invigorated when you return to work.

Reflexology

Reulexology is a form of massage that focuses primarily on the feet. The principal theory behind reflexology is that there are reflex areas on the feet (and hands) that correspond to specific organs, glands and other parts of the body. Practitioners believe that by applying specific massage techniques and pressure points to these reflex areas, you can encourage balance and promote health in the corresponding parts of the body.

Archeological evidence has placed the origins of reflexology in China in 2704 BC, and ancient writings and paintings have shown that reflexology has been used by many other cultures throughout history. Today, reflexology is used for a wide range of diverse conditions, such as mental stress, muscular tension, headaches, digestive problems and PMT. Reflexology also helps to strengthen your body’s immune system, improve circulation and cleanse toxins.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a treatment designed to help optimise your exercise / training program, prepare your body for optimal performance in athletic competition, and to warm up or aid recovery at your sports event. Whilst sports massage is ideally utilised to prevent physical imbalances from occurring, it is also the best treatment to choose if you have a specific problem concerning restricted motion, chronic pain or an injury.
