SERVICES

Kathryn is a therapist. spiritual counsellor and professional coach.
She is trained in all three areas and so can tackle physical, spiritual and career concerns together.

A member of the International Guild of Professional Practitioners, she has been a therapist in London
for over 15 years and in that area uses massage, healing and vibrational medicine.

She was ordained as an Interfaith Minister and spiritual counsellor in 2003, and has been adviser to
men and women in times of stress including at births, marriages and deaths.

Kathryn also works as a Seed coach, the network set up by public relations legend Lynn Franks to
support entrepreneurial women. She specializes in motivating young businesswomen.

As a therapist, Kathryn has made various television appearances on shows such as Good Morning with
Richard and Judy Madeley (ITV), religious discussion programme Nexus and reality show Chained (E4)
and has been featured in related articles. In her role as a therapist at Pepperpot day centre in
Portobello. west London, Kathryn was chosen to meet the Queen on her 80th birthday tour in June
2006.

Kathryn has wide experience of life outside the world of therapy. She is from New York and originally
worked in film-making and jewellery-making. For five years she worked as a Teamster site foreman in
New York’s construction industry on sites at Battery Park City. This led to work as a production
manager with the humanist circus Cirque du Soleil in New York. Kathryn came to the UK in the early 1990s.

Interfaith Minister
I aim to be of service to people of all faiths or none.

help is sought most often by:
  1. Those who are seeking spiritual connection and expression, yet feel uncomfortable with conventional religion (shown by surveys to be a majority of the UK population)
  2. People from different religious backgrounds who wish to honour more than one faith tradition (in a marriage or child blessing ceremony, for instance).
  3. Those struggling with issues they find difficult to raise within their faith (for example, questioning of sexuality).

We are not creating a new religion, but filling a growing spiritual gap in modern society. It's not our aim to convert anyone away from their faith, but to support people who wish to enquire more deeply into their own spiritual tradition and their own soul.

A great many of our graduates are involved in conducting weddings, funerals and blessing ceremonies. Some have started their own centres, worship communities and spiritual education programmes. Others tend more towards offering spiritual counselling - privately, or in hospitals, hospices, colleges and schools. Some have taken their calling - whether expressed in explicit 'spiritual' terms or not - into business training, into peace-making projects, and into the whole passage of family and community life, including parenting. Many have brought increased inspiration to their work as artists, writers and musicians. And for some, the result of the training has simply been a more authentic expression of who they are, and a deeper sharing of their spirituality with others in their everyday lives. In the Interfaith Foundation, we hold that the qualities we bring to our service are more important than its form of expression.

Legal standing of ministers

Interfaith ministers come under the legal category of 'non-conformist', and as with all faith communities other than the Church of England, are ordained and certified by our own self-governing community, operating independently of the state.
