SERVICES

Welcome to Marcophysio

At Marcophysio we specialise in human function, movement and maximising potential. We use physiotherapy techniques and approaches to promote, maintain and restore physical, psychological and social well-being, taking account of variations in health status.

We are highly trained professionals specialising in rehabilitation of patients with orthopaedic diagnoses and designs treatment programs for a broad spectrum of performance levels.

Physiotherapy

Spinal pain and dysfunction are one of the largest causes of disability of modern life the medical community faces today. Most injuries are the result of cumulative trauma caused by poor posture, muscle imbalances, abnormal movement patterns and/or incorrect lifting techniques.

Our goal is to minimise the effects of injury through rehabilitation which emphasises physiotherapy treatment, general fitness and education in proper posture and body mechanics.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is effective in a wide range of painful conditions and is commonly used to treat musculoskeletal pain; for example - back, shoulder, neck and leg pain. It has been successfully used to treat headaches, migraines, trapped nerves, chronic muscle strains and various kinds of rheumatic and arthritic pain.

Some other situations in which acupuncture might be used are:

Functional bowel or bladder problems such as IBS or irritable bladder, and even mild forms of urinary incontinence.

Allergies such as hayfever, perennial allergic rhinitis, and some types of allergic rashes such as urticaria or prickly heat.

Massage

More people are turning to Massage Therapy while searching for a method to help deal with the stress of daily life, maintain good health, or seek relief for a medical condition. We are trained to provide therapeutic massage, including deep tissue and sport massage, to the soft tissues of the body, including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, lymphatic vessels.

Massage promotes efficient muscle activity, helps in injury prevention and aids the recuperation of strains and sprains. Whether seeking relief for a medical condition, searching for a method to deal with daily stress, or a desire to maintain good health, more people are benefiting from therapeutic massage.

Clinical Pilates

Movement dysfunction often leads to pathology and vice versa. Endurance musculature (Type 1) is the primary focus of Clinical Pilates, and the aim is for early onset, at low loads, of both the local / deep stabilisers which we use in everyday activities and postures.

This type of exercise encourages efficiency and submaximal muscle control rather than maximal strength training by relying on variable resistance and movement. To execute the exercises properly a stable, controlled pelvic and shoulder girdle is vital with the physiotherapist applying external load which is used to both facilitate and /or challenge both deep and global stability musculature.
