About Susanne Maynard

Susanne qualified from St Thomas Hospital London, gaining Chartered Society Membership, and later a Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy.

She is a member of the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine, the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports Medicine, the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics, and the Organisation of Physiotherapists in Private Practice.

She worked for 8 years in the NHS in Oxford, gaining valuable experience in a wide variety of conditions. Then she specialised in Rehabilitation, both of trauma and neurological conditions.

After a brief career break, in 1986 she started working part time at a private physiotherapy clinic, and soon decided to establish her own practice at her home in Hauxton. This grew from strength to strength, taking referrals from local GPs, orthopaedic and rheumatology consultants, other complementary health practitioners and through personal recommendations. In 2005, the practice was so busy that it was relocated to Penn Farm Studios.

As well as working in and running the practice, she also works 2 afternoons a week at the Papworth Trust, where she is the sole physiotherapist, in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team whose aim is to help those with acquired disabilities to return to the workplace. There she has gained experience in helping people with long-term complex problems, and chronic pain.

Susanne is a Member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherpists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics and as such is able to offer Workplace Assessments, advising on equipment and working practices to keep the workforce healthy, safely and within the law.

She is qualified and experienced in all musculo-skeletal problems, including sports injuries, back and neck pain, rehabilitation following surgery, stroke, and trauma. She has continually updated and enhanced her skills through attendance at conferences, seminars, workshops and lectures.
