Ante and post Natal

A large number of women, who continue exercise during pregnancy, tend to have a quicker and less complicated labour than those who do not exercise. Many mothers also find they put on less excess weight during pregnancy whilst exercising, therefore making the post-birth goals quicker and easier. The baby's health will also benefit from a healthy mother, and so nutrition and exercise are crucial.

Postnatal is often a difficult time in terms of maintaining the commitment to exercise. However, from around 6-8 weeks, it is perfectly safe to return to exercise, and achieve the 3 main postnatal goals of: a return to pre-pregnancy weight, a rapid improvement in abdominal tone, and improved body image. We can achieve this around your time with your new addition to the family! I have trained many clients both pre and post natal, with a large number still training to-date after experiencing the benefits, and seeing the results!

General Fitness and Tone

I offer a Varied Combinationof Cardiovascular Conditioning and Regular Resistance Training, this is a fantastic way to Shape and Tone those Annoying Problematic Areas It helps by contributing to an increase in basal metabolic rate - burning more calories during rest and sleep. Strength training may include the use of weights, resistance bands, medicine balls, body bars etc, in addition to using calisthenics and various bodyweight exercises.

Abdominal strength and Conditioning

Together with my extensive knowledge of effective abdominal conditioning, I will educate you on how to engage all the Muscles of the body to provide a Stronger Back for Support in your everyday life, and how to gain and maintain the flat stomach that every one desires.

Postural Corrective Analysis

Poor posture can be a result of things like sitting at a desk on a computer all day, weak stomach and back muscles, or years of incorrect exercise technique. The Corrective Postural Training programme tackles the issue of poor posture by first diagnosing the condition and through a series of core developing exercises, flexibility stretches and conditioning work, I can then literally start to straighten you up.

Core Stability and Balance

Core stability training involves exercises that activate the deep trunk muscles with the aim of improving posture, both at rest and during activity. Whilst balance training is used to develop proprioception and co-ordination. Together, they will not only help you move more gracefully, but will also help with injury prevention from sprains and muscle strains.

Equipment may include:
    Stability balls
    Flexi-Bars/Body blades
Balance pads/discs, and the BOSU balance trainer.

Older Adults and Special populations

Anybody can exercise, whatever their age or condition I can tailor a gentle intensity programme to help people that may be:
Those recovering from a major illness such as a heart attack or stroke

People who have limited or no mobility in some or all joints

People who are clinically obese or who have never exercised

Stretch and Relaxation

Sessions to stretch the various muscle groups, especially the ones that have just been used, to reduce muscular soreness. Flexibility training also helps reduce muscular tension; reduces risk of injury to joints, muscles, and tendons; develops body awareness; increases suppleness; and can help with physical and mental relaxation
