SERVICES

  • I am a fully qualified and insured holistic therapist with a City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Therapies and I am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists. I am qualified in reflexology, aromatherapy, sports & remedial massage, Indian head massage, and body massage. I have since gone on to qualify in Hopi ear candling, pregnancy massage, and Hot Stone Fusion massage.

  • Holistic therapies aim to treat the whole person, mind, body and spirit, not just the symptoms. The therapies work with the symptoms and the normal functions of the body, not against them.

  • More and more people are now becoming interested in how they can take an active part in restoring their emotional and physical well being. Therapies such as massage, aromatherapy, and reflexology can help with musculo-skeletal problems such as arthritis and rheumatism, chronic pain as in headaches, migraines, tennis elbow, and backache, sports related injuries such as shin splints, damaged muscles, tendons and ligaments as well as immune related problems such as ME, MS and chronic infections such as cystitis. Many hormonal conditions can also be helped such as over or under active thyroid, PMT and menopausal symptoms.

  • In holistic health care no standard treatment can be appropriate for all individuals, even if they have the same condition or injury. The person’s individuality is taken into account with a detailed consultation. Each person’s condition is different and therefore requires a different approach or maybe a different therapy, ie. reflexology rather than aromatherapy.

  • The treatment strategy aims to work towards physical and emotional well being, not towards the absence of symptoms, as in conventional medicine. There is therefore no fixed beginning or end to the treatment, as the approach is one of preventative health care and maintenance of a state of well being.

  • Massage can also be very beneficial for both mother and baby during pregnancy, often helping the mother to connect with her baby, as well as relax and soothe the many aches and pains that pregnancy brings, and help prepare the body for labour.

    Aromatherapy

Throughout history aromatic plants have been used in the pursuit of happiness and health. Early man would have burned aromatic plants, finding that some were good to eat, whilst others made them feel good. The Ancient Egyptians used fragrances widely for cosmetic purposes, medicinally and for massage. The Romans used oils to scent their hair, bodies, clothes, beds and even their military flags. During the plagues of Europe, people carried pomanders or bouquets of herbs with them to ward off infection.

By the 20th century essential oils were still being used in modern medicine. During the two World Wars essential oils were used to treat severe burns and battle injuries. Today essential oils are still used in the burns unit at East Grinstead hospital.

The term Aromatherapy is generally used to describe a specific form of massage using pressure points and involving the application of a specific blend of essential oils to the body to be absorbed through the skin. Each treatment is individually tailored to meet the needs of the client. It can relieve muscular aches and pains, and help a whole range of conditions such as arthritis, rheumatism, PMT and painful periods, depression and anxiety, as well as stress related conditions such as IBS. It stimulates lymphatic drainage and so boosts the immune system and encourages balancing of the body’s energies and total relaxation of mind, body and spirit.

A total relaxing treatment for face and body using essential oils. Aromatherapy can also be given without massage in the form of inhalations, compresses, creams, lotions and bath oils. I have many aromatherapy products available to purchase, please contact me for details.

Please allow up to 1 hour and 30 minutes for the initial treatment which includes consultation and full body massage.

    Reflexology
Foot reflexology is thought to have originated with the ancient Egyptians over 5000 years ago, although evidence of its use in ancient cultures has been found all over the world.

Modern reflexology is the practice of stimulating areas of the feet that correspond to all the organs, glands and systems of the body. This aims to to correct imbalances caused by the stresses of modern living, ill health, pain, improper diet and environmental allergies and restore the body’s natural balance.

This extremely relaxing and non invasive treatment is designed to help the body heal itself by breaking down tension, relieving stress and improving the circulation.
It can help a wide range of conditions such as arthritis, rheumatism, PMT, menstrual problems, depression, IBS, and many others.

Reflexology is based on the principle that there are specific points in the hands and feet that correspond to all organs and systems in the body. It aims to restore balance to the body and so help it heal itself and function more efficiently. A course of treatments is recommended as reflexology has an accumulative effect on the body.

Please allow 1 hour and 15 minutes for the initial treatment which includes consultation, full reflexology treatment and foot massage.

    1 hour £40

    Hot Stone Fusion Massage
Hot Stone Fusion massage is a deeply relaxing treatment using smooth water heated stones to melt away knots, tension and stress. The body is massaged using the stones, and they are also placed on and tucked under the body. The heat from the stones warms the muscles more quickley than conventional massage, allowing the therapist to work more deeply into the muscles. This promotes recovery and healing, clears energy blockages, and boosts the immune system.

Please allow 1 hour and 30 minutes for the initial treatment which includes detailed consultation and full body massage

    Sports & Remedial Massage
Sports massage aims to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body's soft tissues during physical activity. Where minor injuries and lesions occur, due to overexertion or overuse, massage can break them down quickly and effectively. Above all, it can help prevent niggling injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement, whether one is an athlete, ardent keep-fitter or a once a week jogger.
Remedial massage is a form of deep tissue massage which will help to release tension in the muscles associated with poor posture, such as sitting at a computer. It relieves aches and pains and promotes general well being.

Please allow 1 hour and 15 minutes for the initial treatment which includes detailed consultation, full range of movement assessment and deep tissue massage to the affected areas.

    1 hour £40

    Pregnancy Massage
Massage during pregnancy can be very beneficial for mother and baby, but must always be tailored to suit the mother and her specific needs. It helps mother and baby to relax and helps prepare the body for labour.
In the 2nd and 3rd trimesters the mother will lay on her side or sit upright leaning across the couch. Beanbags are also available if this is more comfortable.

Please allow 1 hour and 30 minutes for the initial treatment which includes detailed consultation and full body massage including bump! The treatment also incorporates some gentle stretches.

    1 hour 30 mins £45
    1 hour £40

    Indian Head massage
Indian Head Massage is based on the ancient Indian system of medicine known as Ayurveda. It is traditionally practised by the people of India, and can relieve stress, bringing about a sense of inner peace and tranquility. This relaxing and soothing treatment involves an accupressure massage to the head, face, neck, arms and shoulders that is said to rebalance the body's energies and banish negativity. It is carried out usually sitting in an upright chair (as opposed to lying on a treatment couch). It can help stimulate strong and healthy hair growth as well as being a great stress reliever.

Please allow 1 hour for the initial treatment which includes detailed consultation.

    1 hour £30
    45 mins £25

    Body Massage
A classical European massage technique which involves therapeutic stroking and kneading of muscle tissue to promote stress relief. It is used to improve circulation, relieve muscle pain and tension, increase flexibility and induce relaxation. This is the most requested and one of the most enjoyable massages.

Please allow 1 hour and 30 minutes for the initial treatment which includes consultation and full body massage.

    1 hour £40

    Hopi Ear Candling
An ancient, very relaxing treatment which can help treat excessive ear wax, glue ear, sinusitis, headaches, migraines, colds and many other ailments. It is thought to have originated with the Hopi Pueblo tribe of native americans. The candles were possibly used in initiation rituals and healing ceremonies. The treatment can reduce the need for ear syringing. Especially good for children.

Please allow 45 mins for the treatment which includes consultation, ear candling treatment and an ear and sinus drainage face massage.

    45 mins £30
