We are Linda & Keri (Mother & Daughter) and we are registered with the VTCT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust) and also members of the International Council of Holistic Therapists

As so many of you exploring this website will know, life can often be quite challenging and we've had our share of challenges. We both became involved with alternative therapies/holistics, primarily as a result of family illness (mostly our own) and discovering the amazing beneficial impact they had on our lives. We decided to train as we had benefited so much, and indeed are continuing to benefit daily; so we both felt a need to help others.

We each still have to deal with ongoing problems and pain daily, but we feel that this helps us to become better therapists and more likely to be able to empathise with our clients.

We do not suggest that these therapies replace orthodox medicine but they certainly do complement it. The principle behind most therapies is to encourage the body to 'help itself' rather than masking the symptoms/problems as some treatments can do.

We have a warm, cosy and relaxing therapy room upstairs in our home. This room has disabled access (sloped/ramped access to the back door entrance via our drive and a stair lift) which were installed to enable Keri to cope with the multiple effects of her heart conditions and also helps with our ongoing ME arthritis/fibromyalgia symptoms. We are happy, however, to visit you at your home or place of work if this is more convenient for you.

We both became involved with Holistics, primarily as a result of family illness (including our own) and discovering the amazing beneficial impact they had on our lives. We decided to train as we have benefited and continue to benefit so much and felt a need to help others. We do not suggest that these therapies replace orthodox medicine but they certainly complement it. Please explore our website to find out more about us and the therapies we offer.

We have a warm, cosy and relaxing therapy room in our home, which has disabled access. However, we will happily treat you at your home or even place of work for your comfort.

☼ Reflexology

Linda is our Reflexologist

What happens during a treatment?
The basic principle of Reflexology is that the feet (and hands) have reflex zones that are linked, via energy pathways, to corresponding parts of the body. When your therapist applies appropriate pressure to these points, energy is moved along these pathways to the body parts, helping your body to release blockages, rebalance and begin to heal itself.

How will I feel after a treatment?
You should feel relaxed and rejuvenated but you may feel very sleepy - this is natural you should simply 'listen' to your body & relax. Drink plenty of water to flush out the toxins and heed the aftercare advice your therapist gives you.

Reflexology offers both physical & psychological benefits including:
  • Mental and physical relaxation
  • Better sleep patterns
  • Reduced anxiety
  • Improved concentration
  • Stimulated vascular circulation
  • Stimulated cell renewal
  • Reduced fatigue
  • Improved lymphatic circulation
  • Renewed energy levels

The History of Reflexology
Historical records show that the benefits of massaging the feet have been appreciated within many cultures, and in fact, it was practiced as early as 2330 BC by the Egyptians
However, Reflexology as we know it today, was pioneered by Eunice Ingham, who saw the natural benefits derived from it. From the 1930's she researched and developed the specific thumb and finger massage techniques Linda will use during your treatment. Eunice was the founder of the Institute of Reflexology and her work still continues today.

Is Reflexology suitable for everyone?
There are certain illnesses or conditions, such as varicose veins or some contagious diseases, when Reflexology may not be appropriate or your doctor's consent will be required. Treatments can also be modified to suit client's needs. This will be discussed at consultation but if you have any concerns or queries, please telephone Linda for a confidential chat.

£25 (45 - 60 mins)

I am more than happy to do Reflexology on the hands of anyone who likes the idea of the therapy but really does not like their feet being touched, or simply prefers their hands to be done.

I have also learnt an alternative technique 'balance' reflexology which involves me having to touch a much smaller area of the foot and not to have to press or massage in the same way. This could be very handy for those who are just too sensitive, don't have much time and/or are recovering from say an operation, when it might be too soon to carry out a full treatment - this treatment will not contra-indicate.

£20.00 (30 - 40 mins)

☼ Indian Head Massage

Both Linda and Keri are qualified to give Indian Head Massages

What happens during a treatment?
Indian Head Massage is a versatile treatment which is done on the shoulders, upper back, neck, scalp, head, face, and arms and for which you need not undress if you prefer. A towel will, of course, always be offered for your modesty if you do.

The massage is carried out as you sit on a low-back chair. IHM is suitable for all ages & can be performed on a client in a wheelchair.

The use of oils is optional and this will be discussed at consultation. If oil is chosen this can also be used in your hair (unless you prefer not to) so it might be best not to wash it just before your treatment. However, for your convenience it can be used everywhere else and not in the hair if preferred.

IHM offers both physical & psychological benefits including:

The History of Indian Head Massage
Massage has been a major part of medicine for over five thousand years. It was primarily given by physicians, being the first medicals art. Ancient Greeks and Romans used massage as their primary means of pain relief and healing. In 5 BC Hippocrates wrote about the benefits of massage insisting that physicians were experienced in 'rubbing'...

'as rubbing can bind a joint that is too loose and can
loosen a joint that is too rigid'.

In India the family tradition of massage dates back to the beginnings of Hinduism. Massage is part of everyday life in Indian culture - being given regularly to newborn babies - ceremoniously before weddings and later from young to elder family members; almost everyone gives and receives it. At a wide variety of holiday locations in India you will find head massages being given as this culture believes a head massage preserves energy and helps fight organism decay. IHM powerfully relaxes the body whilst simultaneously rejuvenating it .

Is Indian Head Massage Suitable for Everyone?
There are certain illnesses or conditions, such as epilepsy or a neck injury, when IHM may not be appropriate or your doctor's consent will be required. There are also some conditions, such as some skin complaints, when the massage may simply have to be modified. This will be discussed at consultation but if you have any concerns, please telephone us for a confidential chat.

£22.50 with or without oils (30-45 mins)

☼ Hopi Ear Candling

Both Linda and Keri are qualified to give Hopi treatments

This treatment includes a face and ear massage following the candling, which is done on one ear at a time with the client lying on a couch.

If you ever suffer with:Hopi Ear Candling
  • Excessive wax production
  • Catarrh
  • Rhinitis
  • Sinusitis
  • Tinnitus - buzzing or ringing in the ear
  • Itching or discomfort in the ear
  • Tensions in the jaw and/or neck
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Neuralgia
  • Travel sickness
  • Mild vertigo
  • Snoring
  • Poor balance

Then Hopi Ear Candling may be able to help you - in fact, many GPs now recommend it.

The therapy of Ear Candling - using a technique adopted by the native American Hopi Indians - is a safe, pain-free, non-invasive and relaxing method of relieving many of these pressure-related head problems and for cleaning the ears of excess wax and other matter.

Our post-candling facial massage enhances relaxation, aids lymphatic drainage of the head, face and neck and helps unblock the nasal passages.

Each treatment time varies according to the Client's needs; so an hour is set aside for each session.

£25 including a very relaxing post-candling face and ear massage

☼ Reiki

A gentle healing technique for body, mind and spirit. Both Keri and Linda offer Reiki treatments

During this very relaxing treatment the client lies fully clothed - except for their shoes - on a couch or can sit in a chair if they prefer. Your therapist will place their hands in a sequence of positions over the body to transmit the Reiki energy. It is not intrusive and you may feel a pleasant warmth or tingling in the area being treated.

Most people relax easily, feeling a release of tension and anxiety allowing healing to begin. Some people fall asleep during treatment, waking fully refreshed and revitalised.

£20 (30-45 mins)

☼ Chakra Balancing

Both Linda and Keri are able to balance your Chakras

The Chakras (Sanskrit meaning 'spinning wheel of energy') are the seven primary energy centres in the human body. They were first mentioned in the Vedas, ancient Hindu texts, and have been known about and integral to holistic therapy practices for centuries.

All the Chakras are located on the torso and head and each receives and transmits life-force energy called 'chi', 'qi', 'prana' or 'universal intelligence'. Each has its own area of responsibility and is linked to a different part of the endocrine system. They are part and parcel of each and every sensation, feeling and emotional experience that we have.

In order to keep our Chakras working at peak efficiency, they need to be working together like a team. Stress can cause imbalance and manifest itself as physical illness, which itself is often a sign that our Chakras are out of balance.

This session will involve the use of colour, crystals, sound and touch.

£20 (20 - 40 mins depending on the individual)
