SERVICES

Welcome to Equilibrate...

Holistic medicine is an approach to health care in general. It is based on the idea that health is the result of harmony between the body, mind, and spirit. Any stress including physical, psychological, social and environmental can affect good health.

All aspects, (mind, body, spirit and emotions) of a person are taken into consideration when having a holistic treatment. Within this holistic approach to medicine, there are complementary therapies and alternative therapies.

Complimentary therapies work alongside western medicine, complimenting it, as opposed to a holistic treatment that can be used as an alternative to western medicine; such as accupuncture.

Reflexology...

Reflexology is a gentle therapy that uses specific thumb and finger massage techniques carried out on the feet, it is based on the principle that reflex points on the feet correspond to areas of the body. For example, the big toe corresponds to the head; therefore massaging the big toe can help to alleviate a headache.

Indian Head Massage...

Indian head massage is a massage therapy that works specifically on the head and surrounding area: scalp and face, neck and extending to the shoulders and upper back. The technique has been practiced in India for over four thousand years, originally by women who believed that massaging their heads with natural vegetable oils kept their long hair healthy and strong.

Massaging the scalp stimulates the flow of blood to the follicles, improving the supply of nutrients needed for healthy growth. In this day and age, as a society we often fall prey to stress, and often complain about tension stored in the shoulders and neck. Nowadays the most common cause of poor blood flow is stress-generated muscle tension.

By helping to relieve such tension, head massage not only improves the condition of your hair, but also provides release from stress-linked problems such as headaches, and eyestrain.
