SERVICES

Welcome to Roundhay Chiropractic Clinic

Frank Nash D.C. established Roundhay Chiropractic Clinic in 1936 on Lidgett Park Road. The move to our current premises took place in 1986 under the guidance of Barry McQuire D.C.

These larger premises allowed our clinic to continue to grow and provide our patients with a broader range of treatments. At the present time we have a team of five chiropractors, four male and one female offering chiropractic treatment of the highest standard.

We are also delighted that patients can now access other services such as acupuncture and sports massage. Our aim in clinic is to provide care of the highest quality in a warm and professional environment.

To find out more about us and what we offer please use the links at the side.

For further information contact our reception and arrange an assessment with one of our Chiropractors today on 0113 2661419.

Your First Visit

Your first visit will last approximately 30 minutes. It would be helpful if you could arrive five minutes before your appointment time, as we need you to fill in a short form covering personal information, such as name, address, your G.P. so that your file can be prepared before you meet your chiropractor.

If you are a member of any private health care insurance, please bring along any relevant documents and give to the receptionist so she can perform the necessary administration whilst you see the chiropractor

Your chiropractor will greet you in the reception area and take you through to the treatment room. They will then ask you about your particular problem, your past medical history, any accidents and work posture. All your details will be handled with the strictest confidence. The chiropractor must establish an overall health picture in order to ensure that chiropractic care is appropriate for you. If chiropractic appears not to be suitable, you will be referred to your G.P. or relevant specialist.

Once your case history is complete, you will be asked to change into a gown (a changing area and gowns are provided) for the physical examination. This concentrates on the neuromuscularskeletal system (nerves, muscles and bones) and involves analysis of posture, palpation and movement of the spine and other joints. It may also be necessary to check other things such as your heart, lungs and abdomen to rule out other causes of your pain.

Based on these findings the chiropractor can assess whether any additional investigations are necessary, such as blood tests, x-rays or MRI/CT scans, prior to treatment. X-ray facilities are available within the clinic and if necessary will be performed at this stage.

Your chiropractors first concern is to find out what is wrong with you and check for signs of any serious underlying disorder for which you would need to be referred to your GP. After reviewing all the information gathered in the consultation and examination your chiropractor will be able to give you a diagnosis and prognosis except when further investigation are necessary. They will explain to you what is wrong with you, what can be done about it, how much treatment they estimate is required and how much it will cost. They will also give advise on lifestyle, exercises and changes to your working environment where appropriate. Your chiropractor will be able to advise on the chances of reoccurrance of your problem and may suggest maintenance care and/or rehabilitation exercises to cut down the risk.

On most occasions treatment will be given on your first visit however, if not postural and pain relief advice will always be given. Follow-up treatments are made by appointment and will generally last 15 minutes.
