SERVICES

Welcome to Judy Shipway Acupuncture

Hello! Welcome to acupuncture. I hope you would like to come for treatment - If you have questions, please get in touch.

Acupuncture is a fascinating combination of art and science. I was attracted to it because, as a science, it makes a lot of logical sense, has a long heritage and a body of research supporting it, whilst the art of practising it is sophisticated and elegant.

Acupuncture also has incredible depth and allows me to tailor treatment to the unique physical, mental and emotional needs of each patient...all at the same time! What better way to maximise your body's ability to heal?

I trained at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (part of the University of Kingston), graduating with a BSc (Hons) degree in Acupuncture. My practice integrates two styles of acupuncture - Five Element Constitutional Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Being able to incorporate principles from one or both styles gives a great breadth of treatment options, which is ultimately in the best interests of patients.

Acupuncture can help with many conditions - here are just some:
Acne & other skin complaints, addictions (e.g. smoking), allergies & hay fever, anxiety, palpitations, panic attacks, arthritis, asthma & other breathing disorders, back pain, chronic fatigue, colds & coughs, constipation, diarrhoea, urinary problems, depression, diabetes, digestive disorders, epilepsy, headaches, migraines, high or low blood pressure, infertility, insomnia, menstrual problems, Multiple Sclerosis, musculo-skeletal problems, pain, sciatica, sickness, stress, stroke, supporting pregnancy.....and when you just don't feel right.

This isn't an exhaustive list - if you're not sure whether acupuncture is appropriate for you, please call for a chat.

As a member of the British Acupuncture Council I am bound by strict codes of conduct and ethics, am fully insured and complete a minimum of 30 hours of Continuing Professional Development per year to ensure my skills remain up-to-date.

I combine acupuncture practice with healthcare research, working with The Picker Institute (a research charity based in Oxford) which promotes patient involvement in all levels of healthcare. In addition to English (my native language) I also speak French and Spanish.
