Welcome to Chusfitness Personal Training

Hi & welcome to my site. my name is Chris Husbands. I want to help you to 'challenge yourself to success in fitness'. I've been a fitness consultant for over 11years now & funnily enough what people want, has not changed a great deal.

Whether this be Weight loss, Flat abs, great looking muscles or fitness for sport, most of us want it & fast. Seems no one has the time anymore, we want it all Now! Well if it's worth having it's worth working hard for, quick fixes never work for long, If you are willing to work hard to achieve your goals then I'm willing to help.Whether it's about motivation, focus, knowledge or new ideas for your workouts contact me.

My background as a former International Kickboxer & Martial Artist, Track & Field Coach/Athlete, has given me a great deal of experience in fitness knowledge & application even before pursuing my Personal Trainer career, so you can be sure there's some way for me to help you achieve your Lifestyle goals. I'm fully committed to continued professional development which is why I value my REP Level 3 advanced instructor status. I'm also a member of National Register of Personal Trainers. I am qualified in many areas of expertise. In addition to the general strength & fitness I'll help you with Circuit Training - Combat Training - SAQ - Weight Management & Nutrition, Youth fitness or sports specific. I have also worked on many projects with other trainers fully qualified in Yoga, Pilates & Boxing, much of which I incorporate with my other disciplines, if you wish to 'specialise' in some of these disciplines just ask & I can set you on the right path or look them up on my 'links' page.

Do you have a sports specific goal? Or infact any fitness goal within the wider everyday arena of life, then get in touch. I can incorporate sporting elements from Athletics, Boxing, Kickboxing, within your program as my normal area of expertise but for any sport I can create a unique training plan to get you there...so whether its sports specific or the every day arena of life that poses a real challenge to your fitness & lifestyle then do get in touch!

What is Strength?

What is Strength? The ability to lift or move a force until you tire, maybe! Strength can be a 'power' situation, it can be an 'endurance' situation. So it can be instant or prolonged.

Who is stronger? A person lifting a colossal weight just once or another lifting a fairly heavy weight over & over again. In any case strength is one thing we can all learn and is continually the last thing to desert us as we get older.

What is Fitness?

Fitness is more acute. Is the Sprinter fitter than the Marathon runner?

It all depends on your perception and your needs. For you being 'fit' may well mean being able to run for a bus, or climb 6 flights of stairs without having to huff & puff afterwards. We can all get fitter with few exceptions.

So whether your aim is Fitness or Strength, for Good Health or Sports. Don't despair there are many ways to improve and measure it.

Benefits of Strength & Fitness?

Fitness can be fun! contrary to opinion & belief it's not just about going down the gym, You can improve your strength & fitness anywhere & in many different ways! I can make your sessions fun & varied.

The benefits of health are unquestionable. eg Ladies if the mere mention of weights sends you running, did you know that strength training helps to combat osteoporosis by improving bone density. Guys, you don't have to look like Mr Universe to be strong either, weights can work for you both, its all about intensity, frequency, repetitions not just about weight on the stack, barbell or dumb bell.

Lets also not forget about our 'Cardio' fitness or Core fitness! The most important muscle in your body, the heart needs 'activity' to keep it strong. In our ever 'challenging' lifestyles where 'leisure time' needs to be managed efficiently to prevent it becoming 'Lazier time'. Activity is the key! We hear so often "i haven't got the time or energy to keep fit"! Well Carry on saying that & thats exactly what will happen. After all If you 'move less' your body will compensate & demand less from you, in the meantime all your bodies functions will also slow down or become less efficient, then when we do need it to act!!!!... too late..... too much for the body to cope with so it shuts down.

Your Core (thats the part of the body between your neck down to your hips) needs to be stimulated & challenged constantly to improve posture, flexibility yes & six pack abs, but also prevent back pain too. There are many muscles & connective tissue that make up the core. I like to call it the 'centre of our universe', neglect it at your peril as it's vital in 'EVERYTHING' we do. Ensure its engaged for every action.

Cardio-vascular (CV) training, helps the heart & lungs to remain 'efficient to function' combine this with strength, Core & Nutrition to get the right balance of fitness!

Remember, energy not expended trains the body to be Ineffecient & Ineffective! so in short 'use it or lose it!

Its up to you!
