Welcome to Turgoose & Turgoose Osteopaths

Osteopathy is a hands-on holistic treatment (involving the whole body) for relaxing, releasing and re-aligning the musculo-skeletal system. It is a safe and effective approach to treat injuries and restore health.

About Us

Simon Turgoose D.O. and Tara Turgoose BSc.(Ost) graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1990 and 1992 respectively.

Simon has been involved in setting up contracts for osteopathy on the N.H.S. in Wirral since 1990. He established the Manchester Osteopathic Clinic (MOC) in Swinton in 1993.

Tara spent her former post-graduate years in private practice in London. She became involved in treating young patients when working in the Osteopathic Centre for Children in Harley Street, London during 1995-1997. She joined Simon at the MOC in 1997, and in September 2000 they set up the second clinic in Chorlton.

In September 2002 Simon and Tara relocated to Bromley, Kent to be nearer their families after the birth of their son, Louis. They have now set up practice in Bromley.

Both osteopaths are very experienced in cranial osteopathy, and attend post-graduate courses regularly to remain updated with the new developments in this specialised field.

As Simon and Tara are fully registered with the General Osteopathic Council, the treatment is covered by most private health schemes.

Our Treatment

Osteopaths use a wide range of manual techniques to promote health in the body. Among these are massage, articulatory, manipulative and 'cranial' techniques.

After a full examination and discussion with the patient, the osteopath will decide on the most appropriate techniques for the problem, based on the presenting condition, the general health of the patient and the patient's personal preference.
Cranial Osteopathy

This technique is extremely soothing for the patient. It works to release the deep tension patterns which exist in people and aims to eliminate chronic conditions which manifest themselves for years in the form of long term or recurrent problems.

It is also the treatment of choice when working with babies and children, due its gentle application.
