About Me
I am a Nurse Therapist, in Private Practice. I am a fully Accredited EMDR Practitioner. EMDR is the Department of Health's recognised treatment of choice and recommended by The National Institute For Clinical Excellence (NICE) for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I am qualified and experienced in working with people across the age range; however, I specialise in treating Children and Adolescents who have suffered from traumatic life experiences.
I have twenty-five years experience in working in Specialist Community Mental Health Services. The last ten of these were spent working into specialist teams treating some of the most severely traumatised children and adolescents, who had developed secondary mental health disorders through lack of appropriate and timely treatment interventions. In moving into private practice it is my aim to ensure such treatment is delivered effectively.
My Private Practice is allied with a Network of Therapists, Psychologists and Psychiatrists known as Northern Trauma Services. We are all specialists in Trauma. This service benefits from some of the most experienced clinicians specialising in psychological trauma in the UK. We all comply with The EMDR Association guidance on recognised standards of safe practice.
We can also provide Medico Legal Services.
