SERVICES

Welcome to Spiral of Tranquility

I first used complimentary therapies on my young sister when she was dying of cancer 21 years ago.

I realized that not only was she finding a great comfort in this caring gentle touch. I too was able to stay connected with her and show my love and concern to her at a time when it was difficult to find the right words to say. This was my motivation to extend my skills, the awareness that we could show concern and love to someone when feeling so helpless

At that time I was a volunteer in the psychiatric ward of the Mater Hospital delivering the Therapeutic Touch programme for the Red Cross. I had 3 years experience of seeing first hand the many benefits of the therapies. I have since used my skills and knowledge as a Complementary Therapist to design and deliver a series of programmes to many groups at home and around the world.

For the past 22 years I have taught complimentary therapy to numerous community groups in my role as a part time tutor for B.M.C., the E.A.I.F.H.E. & the WEAL.

Stress Management And Relaxation Techniques

SMART school program (Stress Management And Relaxation Techniques) aims to support students, staff and parents.

I trained a team of therapists to deliver my program when the requests from the schools increased.
See the Schools Projects link in the main menu.

I have designed and delivered a series of programs in conjunction with Conflict Mediation groups to various communities around the world. I have taken the program to Africa (Kenya and Ethiopia) and to Eastern Europe (Romania) adapting and developing it to meet the religious and cultural needs of the local communities.

I worked in Whaga (2002) training 70 women in stress management, relaxation and massage techniques through participatory workshops.

The project resulted in the establishment of a school program, stress management clinic and trained mobile volunteers. Plans at that time for a return visit in 2007 to deliver further training for the setting up of more 'Tranquility Centre, has already taken place in Kikambala.
