SERVICES

Welcome to Cyswllt Contact Ltd

Cyswllt Contact is a registered UK charity (No. 1047945), which was set up in 1992. We are a Day Service, providing help, advice and support for people with drug and alcohol problems, and for their families. We also offer support to people with eating disorders. Cyswllt Contact consists of dedicated, specialist, trained staff.

Cyswllt Contact offers:
  • Education about drug and alcohol abuse - and recovery.
  • Information about how families function when coping with drug and alcohol abuse, and help to identify and improve the family situation.
  • A caring and nuturing place where people can share with others who understand their concerns.
Referrals
We do not have a formal referral procedure - all you need to do is to phone, write, email or call in to make an appointment. We welcome referrals from any source - GP's, Psychiatrists, Nurses, the Probation Service, Social Workers, voluntary self-help groups, family or self-referrals. After initial assessment we aim to assess all clients within 10 working days.

Initial Assessment
You will be assessed to determine which programme is suitable for you. If it is decided, after an initial assessment, that our services are not suitable, we will refer you on to an organisation that is suitable for your needs.

Drug and Alcohol Awareness Programme
This programme offers education and information about various aspects of drug and alcohol abuse, including the physical effects of alcohol and other drugs, the nature of dependence and relief using and how it can impact the life of the user and their families. It runs for 2 hours per week over 6 weeks.

Day Treatment Programme
The Day Treatment Programme is an abstinence-based rolling programme. Its aim is to support clients to maintain an alcohol and drug free lifestyle. It runs from 10am to 3pm on weekdays.

Drug Intervention Programme
Contact Ceredigion is the Drug Intervention Programme (DIP) service provider in Ceredigion. DIP is a UK-wide government funded programme to help drug misusing offenders receive help and treatment for their substance misuse. The aim is to help them break free of both their substance misuse and their cycle of offending, so that both the individual and society benefit as a result. Referrals come from all sources, with the police, courts, probation, prison and solicitors being the most common. DIP clients are able to join any of our existing treatment programmes as well as seeing the support worker for help and advice on everyday practical issues.

Aftercare
One year continued weekly support for people in the vulnerable stages of early recovery.

Family Programme
The Family Programme is open to people who have been affected by someone else's use of alcohol or other drugs. Through education and by relating to other people who are experiencing similar difficulties, the family member can begin to make changes to improve their life.

Counselling
We provide 1 : 1 counselling

Drop-in
We have a 'drop-in' facility that is open from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Everyone is welcome and tea and coffee are available.

Meditation Group
The meditation group runs weekly. We offer a variety of meditation techniques.

Support Service
In-house support is available to clients on issues such as housing, finance and debt, welfare benefits, health, employment and training information. Support is individually tailored and directed toward the client gaining greater independence through developing skills and confidence.

Schools Education Programme
The Schools Programme aims to increase young people's awareness of drug and alcohol use, and gives information about some of the effects, dangers and consequences. It interactively explores various aspects of drug and alcohol use, including peer pressure, refusal skills, decision-making and self-esteem building.
