SERVICES

We believe that every patient we see deserves to be seen as an individual. We look into each person’s lifestyle to look for any predisposing factors and help correct or eliminate them.

Pegasus Clinics excel in providing high quality healthcare to its clients.

Who Are We?

We are registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). They oversee all osteopaths in the UK. We believe that every visit to the osteopath should be pleasant and should get straight to the source of the problem. We are experienced osteopaths, with a friendly and excellent understanding of musculoskeletal problems.

We also have an animal clinic, where we treat injured animals such as horses and dogs. They too can benefit from osteopathy as much if not more than humans.

We pride ourselves in having close working relationships with local hockey & cricket clubs and are official Osteopaths for Hizen Kendo Club and Great Britain Kendo Team.

Exercise rehabilitation

Part of the programme of good health, we where possible try to give our patients exercises to either strengthen weak areas or to stretch tight areas. This would be tailored specifically to each patient’s needs and requirements. You may not be given all your exercises in one session as you may need to stretch some muscles/joints early on in your treatment but then strengthen later. You will be given these as and when you would need them. Where possible we also try and give you a printout of your exercises so that you do not modify the exercise given to you or do it incorrectly and possibly do yourself harm.

Naturopathy

What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy seeks to promote health by stimulating the body’s own inherent ability to produce balance and harmony. A Naturopath aims to find the root cause of the problem, devise a health programme to enhance the body’s health, advise and guide each individual to a healthy lifestyle and to teach how to take control of your own health. Naturopathic treatment consists of daily dietary programme, detoxification, hydrotherapy and physical therapy.

Why see a Naturopath?
In the modern world of fast food, high fat high sugar diets, many people are concerned about the short and long term effects of diet on their health and lifestyle. We offer a nutritional analysis service than can identify potential danger in your diet and initiate a programme to adjust it. Our analysis takes into account any possible food intolerance, nutrient intake, toxicity, obesity, disease and lifestyle. We then design package of diet manipulation and supplementation tailored for you. We are stockists of Lamberts products at very competitive prices.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is an established and recognised system of diagnosis and treatment. A breakdown in the body’s normal working patterns can place unnecessary stress, strain and pain, on the body. Osteopathy is unique in the way that it recognises that much of the pain and disability, which we suffer, stems from abnormalities in the function of the body structure, as well as damage caused to it by disease. It also examines the structure and functional integrity of the body and how the parts of the body interact together. Osteopathy is a system of health care, which recognises that the self-healing, self-regulating ability of the body is dependent upon a number of factors. Its main strength lies in the unique way that patients are assessed from a mechanical, functional and postural standpoint. It places special emphasis on the importance of body mechanics, and uses manipulative techniques to detect and correct faulty structure and function. It utilises generally accepted methods of dianosis as well as certain specialised ones developed to facilitate accurate structural assessment.

Osteopathy doesn’t just tackle the symptoms, but looks to find the root cause of the problem.

Electrotherapy

Pegasus Clinics possess state of the art electrotherapy equipment. We have laser therapy to help speed up recovery where necessary. We also possess therapeutic ultrasound (not the type used for imaging babies!) and interferential. We only use the machines where we think the patient will benefit and not as some clinics, use it regardless of the condition. Some conditions are not suitable for electrotherapy and some conditions may mean that you cannot have some forms of electrotherapy at all.
Electrotherapy can if used correctly significantly speed up recovery rates and also helps with short term pain at the same time.

We do not do laser hair removal or tattoo removal with our laser therapy.

Ergonomic assessments

What are ergonomic assessments?
Ergonomic s is the relationship between an environment and the worker. An ergonomic assessment involves an assessment of the work area(s) with a view to tailoring it to suit the needs of the individual’s body shape. This may be in front of a computer, in a factory or even whilst driving. Whilst the term is usually common in the office environment, ergonomics of everyday items also play an important role in injury prevention.

Occupational injuries account for 350 million working days lost a year in Britain. Having a workstation assessment or making changes at work can mean that an employee is not suffering, but an added benefit for the employer is that a happy employee is a productive employee and less time off work.

Where possible we will try and give you advice where you don’t need to purchase any expensive equipment. When you do have to, we will advise you on what is the best item for your particular needs and give you the specifications you require. This can be done as part of a treatment or separately depending on your individual needs.

Dry needling

What is dry needling?
Dry needling is the use of a needle (either hypodermic or acupuncture) into trigger points or areas of tight muscle. This is also known by several other names (myofascial acupuncture and western acupuncture). Dry needling is not the same as traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture although does use some of the same meridian points. We use it to help loosen up particularly tight bands of muscle or for very chronic conditions and trigger points. Unlike traditional acupuncture we will not use moxa. We will always offer you the choice for this and not just perform it.

If used correctly it can give immediate relief and long lasting relief. We will always use dry needling with our other forms of therapy to help make a speedy recovery.

If you are afraid of needles please do not worry, but do mention this to the practitioner when asked. We can get similar results with cupping or we will treat you in another way.
