Welcome to Alcion Holistic Therapies
Alcion Holistic Therapies has two distinctive meanings for Robyn Morris, the literal meaning comes from the expression 'Halcyon Day's, meaning peaceful, calm times away from the turbulence and chaos of normal 'life'.
The expression originates from the old Greek myth, whereby when the Halcyon bird flew across turbulent, raging seas she'd bring with her a calmness and stillness to the oceans, allowing seafarers safe passage to their destination. Halcyon later became shortened to 'Alcion' in middle England.
On a personal level, the name Alcion has deeply sentimental meaning for Robyn, as this was the name given to a family pet Canary bird (back in the time when it was acceptable to keep birds in cages). Alcion, the yellow Canary, was rescued by her Grandfather who found him emaciated and badly in need of care. He captured him, nursed him and named him shortly before her Grandfather's time here with us came to an end. Alcion the yellow Canary, lived on with the family for many years after, apparently, uncharacteristically longer than most caged birds, and filled their home and hearts with his beautiful song until the day he died.

Treatments are entirely, one-hundred-percent YOU time and we will concentrate on whatever area / condition or space of relaxation you require. Our aim is to make you feel completely relaxed and cared for and for you to leave feeling like you have had that time out from the world.
