Welcome to the Body Centred Therapy Practive

The Body Centred Therapy Practice is owned and run by Ros Ivison, a former Registered Nurse, who is experienced in several bodywork modalities..

Treatments

  • KMI Structural Bodywork - consists of 3 Sessions, starting with the lower body, then upper body and finally dealing with any bends and rotations in the spine and integration.
  • Sports and Remedial Massage - athletes can benefit from sports massage to prevent injury and also pre and post event massage. This is not just intended for athletes though - remedial massage helps with all those aches and pains from the activities of daily living that have become persistent.
  • The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage™ - a specialised form of abdominal massage for both men and women.

About Ros

I originally trained as a nurse, specialising in the care of renal patients.

I discovered complementary and alternative therapies (CAM’s) in 2001 and have personal experience and knowledge of several, including structural bodywork, sports and remedial massage, craniosacral therapy, shiatsu and medical herbalism.

After being inspired by a book on Craniosacral Therapy by Dr. John Upledger, I undertook postgraduate training in Craniosacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute in the UK. They provide training for healthcare professionals and practitioners trained in other CAM modalities. I have undertaken both Craniosacral Therapy modules (CST i and CSTII) and both SomatoEmotional Release modules (SERI and SERII).

Having studied therapeutic massage during the first year of my degree in therapeutic bodywork, I ultimately discovered advanced abdominal massage techniques and have taken two specialist courses in Chi Nei Tsang (Taoist Abdominal Massage) at the Healing Tao Centre in London. I was then introduced to The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage™, an ancient form of healing taught in Belize and the USA by Dr. Rosita Arvigo, an American Naprapath. I undertook my Professional training in 2007 and hope to undertake my Certification training at sometime in the future. I have also recently undertaken further advanced abdominal massage training with Marty Ryan of Love Your Guts Seminars entitled Palpatory Anatomy of the Belly: Digestive System and Applications to Digestion.

For further information on any of the above therapies, please visit my website that contains full details.
