Welcome to Kim Williiamson

Yoga refers to traditional physical and mental disciplines originating in India.

The word is associated with meditative practices in both Buddhism and Hinduism. In Hinduism, it also refers to one of the six orthodox (āstika) schools of Hindu philosophy, and to the goal toward which that school directs its practices.

About Kim

Kim has over 10 years teaching experience and has been practising yoga since she was a child.

Kim was living in Dubai in the early 80’s and was reintroduced to Yoga after watching an Indian friend practice.”I knew the exercises, as a child, I had to warm up and practice in the gym everyday for my gymnastics training, I had no idea we were doing Yoga! After that I was hooked, I found a book and started practising”

Kim moved to New York in 1995 and started studying under Swami Bua. “It was unbelievable; Swami Bua lived in the apartment building that I moved into! I started seeing him every day and in the beginning, I think I cried afterward for about a week, Swami Bua was very strict about placement and alignment and most of the time I felt like I was doing everything completely wrong! It was working through the frustrations and anger that I started to get a real connection in my practice.”

Kim went on to study Sivananda yoga and spent her weekends upstate NY at the Sivananda ashram. She completed her teacher training in 1997.

Since moving to London, Kim has trained in astanga, hatha and vinyasa with the British School of Yoga and the Indian Ayurvedic Institute in Tamil Nadu. Kim is also a massage therapist, reiki healer and reflexologist.

"As a single parent life can be quite tough and very stressful, Yoga has kept me sane(well at least I think, therefor I am!) For me yoga is a practice where I can transcend the physical and connect on a deeper level, releasing from the mundane. Working with the breathe has a calming effect and balances the mind."
