An acupuncture treatment usually consists of ultra-fine needles being inserted in specific acupuncture points and left for 20-30mins.
Treatments may be supplemented with heat, cupping, moxibustion, electro-acupuncture and /or ear candling, all used to enhance stimulation of the body's qi where necessary for your particular treatment. A full explanation of the techniques will of course be given before proceeding with any treatment.
The initial consultation, which includes the taking of your full medical history, details of your diet, lifestyle, physical and emotional condition, will take approximately 1 1/2 hours to complete. Your pulse and tongue will also be examined for diagnostic purposes. This information will then enable me to create a unique treatment protocol for you.
The number of treatments varies from person to person and will depend on how chronic or acute your condition is, as well as other health factors and will be agreed after a full discussion.
