SERVICES

I offer a range of therapies which are individually tailored to suit the client's requirements to promote their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

These consist of:
  • Bowen Technique
  • Indian Head Massage
  • Reflexology
  • Acupressure Chair Massage
  • Reiki

If you have any questions or would like further information about a treatment, please feel welcome to contact me.

During your initial consultation you will be asked to complete a Client Information form which consists of questions relating to your general health and medical history. This is so the treatments can be assessed to your individual needs, and is strictly confidential.

Bowen Technique
Bowtech (the original Bowen Technique) is a 'hands on, hands off' treatment. The therapist uses their thumbs or fingers in certain points around the body, making rolling type moves over the soft tissue - muscle, tendon, ligament - and in between each set of moves, leaves the room to allow a response to take effect. The moves are gentle and the client should experience little or no pain during a treatment, although there will be certain areas which might be tender or sensitive.

The Bowen Technique is not necessarily a 'long term' treatment programme. Most clients find that a small number of treatments are adequate even for long-standing complaints.
Some of the wide range of conditions that may respond well to a Bowen treatment are:
  • sports injuries
  • neck and shoulder problems
  • back pain, sciatica, RSI and tennis elbow
  • stress and tension symptoms
  • knee, ankle and foot problems
  • respiratory conditions and hayfever
  • migraine and headaches
  • digestive and bowel problems
  • accident injuries

Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage (Champissage) is a fast, effective technique for de-stressing and calming.

The therapeutic effects of Indian Head Massage last long after the treatment is over. The short and long term benefits are individual, varied and cumulative and include the following:
  • Relieves stress, anxiety and mental tension
  • Releases fibrositic nodules
  • Relieves headaches, eyestrain, sinusitis, tinnitus, nasal congestion and insomnia
  • Relieves stiffness in the neck and shoulder area
  • Loosens the scalp
  • Increases energy levels
  • Promotes more restful, refreshing sleep
  • Strengthens the immune systemv
  • Gives a 'balanced' feeling of calm and peace.

Reflexology
Reflexology is a complementary therapy, which works on the feet to help heal the whole person not just the prevailing symptoms.

Used to help restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium, this gentle therapy encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance.

Reflexology has been shown to be effective for:
  • Back pain
  • Migraine
  • Infertility
  • Arthritis
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Fatigue
  • Digestive disorders
  • Stress-related conditions

Reflexology is suitable for all ages and may bring relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Please note however, that reflexology is not suitable if you are in the first three months of pregnancy.

Whilst many people use reflexology as a way of relaxing the mind and body and counteracting stress, at the same time many health care professionals recognise reflexology as a well established, respected and effective therapy.

Acupressure Chair Massage
Acupressure Chair Massage is traditionally a 15 minute seated acupressure massage carried out over clothes without oil.

It was originally developed in the United States in order to bring massage to the workplace. It is also known as 'On-Site Massage' as the specially designed chair can be taken to the client and thus has now sprung up in a variety of places such as conferences, airports, shopping centres, offices etc.

This massage covers the upper body, including the head, neck, shoulders, back, arms and hands.

Although not designed as a medical treatment there are many benefits: it relieves stress and tension, relaxes both mind and body, relieves aches and pains and improves the circulatory systems, thereby boosting the body's immunity to illness.

Reiki
Rei is the Japanese character for Spirit or Soul, Ki is untranslatable into a Reiki, covering Camberley, Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshiresingle English word, but to summarise it means 'indicator of life' or 'Universal Life Energy'. The Usui system of natural healing is the art of channelling universal life energy as a form of hands-on-healing.

A reiki treatment is very relaxing promoting a sense of well-being, and like other energy rebalancing therapies views illness as a disruption of the body's energy systems. It aims to restore fundamental energy circulation and thus improve health.
