SERVICES

Welcome to De-Stress The Holistic Way

Mobile, Qualified & Insured Therapist

Ear Candling

The client lays on the therapy couch on their side, covered in a soft fleece, I treat the side that you feel is worse first and then you turn over onto the other side for the second ear to be treated. A ear candle is inserted into the ear and lit, I sit with you and hold the candle in place. The warmth created by the candle then softens the ear wax within the ear. Each side takes between 7 -12 minuets then a gentle massage is performed across the sinus area and around the ear. In addition, I will also gently stimulate pressure points on the face. The session will usually last for forty minutes, and I like my clients to sit quietly for ten minutes once the treatment has been completed.

Indian Head Massage

The aim of Indian head massage is to release the stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders. It is based on the ancient Ayurvedic healing system. This approach to health is the balance of body, mind and spirit, and the promotion of long life. ‘Ayurveda’ comes from Sanskrit and means the ’science of life’.

What to expect from your Indian Head Massage.

The client, fully clothed, sits in a massage chair for the treatment. The therapist uses a range of different movements including deep kneading and compression movements over the neck, shoulder , arms, hands and scalp areas. In addition, the therapist will also gently stimulate and stroke pressure points on the face. The session will usually last for forty minutes, and I like my clients to sit quietly for ten minutes once the massage has been completed.

Swedish Massage

What to expect from your Swedish Massage.

Swedish massage feels good and can be relaxing or invigorating. Massage positively affects the nerves, muscles, glands and circulation, whilst promoting health and well being. The skin’s natural functions will be stimulated improving the condition of the skin, and the warmth created will help relax the body physically and mentally.

The treatment will be carried out respecting client confidentiality and modesty at all times. You will be covered in soft towels to ensure the body is kept warm. Only the area to be massaged will be uncovered at the appropriate time. In a full body massage the areas will normally include legs, feet, arms, hands, shoulders, thighs and back. As no two people are alike the body massage sequence will be adapted to the clients needs.

Reiki

Reiki is an ancient form of healing. The word Reiki means ’Universal life Energy’ and refers to the energy force, which is within and around us all, the life force of the universe and everything in it. Reiki is a gentle non-invasive healing energy that works on all levels; physical, emotional and spiritual. Reiki is a simple, natural method of healing that anyone of any age can benefit from.

What to expect from your Reiki Treatment.

The client, fully clothed, lays on a massage couch for the treatment. The therapist uses a range of different hand positions placing them on the clients body. Reiki creates deep relaxation and aids the body to release stress, tension and depression. Aids better sleep. Clears blocked energy creating balance in the body and helps process trapped emotions. And many more!

Aftercare advice.

After your treatment please follow the advice below in order to gain maximum benefit from your treatment.

  • Have a suitable rest period, with deep controlled breathing.
  • Avoid stimulants, for example tea, coffee, alcohol and smoking for 24 hours after your session. During the treatment we start the detoxification process. Adding more toxins to your system means your Kidneys have to work even harder to eliminate the toxins.
  • Drink plenty of water. This encourages the body to continue the cleansing process that was begun in the session.
  • It is advisable not to eat a large or heavy meal after your session.

Benefits of having an Holistic treatment.

  • Relives Stress & Tension
  • Increases the blood and lymphatic circulation, which brings oxygen and nutrients to the part being massaged. It also takes away waste products which may be responsible for muscle stiffness, aches and pains.
  • Relaxes tight muscles.
  • Relieving stiffness in joints.
  • Frees knots of muscular tension
  • Creates a feeling of balance and calm
  • Improves quality of sleep.
  • Relief of depression, irritability and low moods.
  • Encourages deeper more relaxed breathing.
  • Triggers the release of endorphins, which creates a feeling of contentment and happiness.
  • Promotes sleep.
  • Clients report that the experience is deeply calming and relaxing, leaving them feeling energised and revitalised and better able to concentrate.
  • Helps to reduce Headaches & Migraine
  • Helps to alleviate Sinusitis

Although the benefits of the massage outweigh any short term negative effects a few clients may have some negative reactions to the detoxification process.

These could include; Skin eruption, nausea, headache, unusual fatigue, dizziness, head or chest cold. An increased desire to urinate (as the body eliminates toxins and waste materials), ear infection, boils or any other way the body eliminates toxins. All of these side effects usually last for no more than 24 hours, after which clients generally experience increased energy and alertness.

If you are feeling unwell you should not have a treatment.
Always make sure that you avoid alcohol for at least five hours before the treatment.
