Cystitis is caused by bacterial infection and causes bladder inflammation. Cystitis is the most common form of urinary tract infection. Symptoms include a burning sensation or pain when urinating, frequent urination, cloudy, foul-smelling urine, pain above the pubic bone, and fever. In rare cases, surgery may be required however medication is the most common treatment. Natural therapies such as Aryuveda, herbal medicines, acupuncture or homeopathy may be used in treatment of Cystitis. For prevention, it is recommended that individuals wipe from front to back after going to the bathroom, urinate after sexual intercourse, keep fluids up and drink cranberry juice.
