ABOUT

We keep you up to date with current information.

We give you a voice and a vote within your profession.

We will observe, monitor and contribute to the process of obtaining Voluntary Self - regulation of the aromatherapy profession.

The Aromatherapists Society has been formed by a group of eminent and long-standing people in the aromatherapy world for all people trained or training in aromatherapy, for their benefit and participation.

The Society is un-complicated and all embracing with minimal rules, a simple constitution, and a code of conduct, ethics and practice. It is not run by ‘committee’ but by the members for the members.

The Society has an office from which the daily affairs are run, a register of members, an international web site and is able to provide insurance cover. The members have an International Co-ordinator disseminating information and representing them to complement the web site. An international newsletter is web based and, should they want to, members can organise regional meetings.

Members have to provide an annual subscription, a qualification in aromatherapy or evidence that they are training on a certified course. This entitles them to a numbered certificate, an individual vote when qualified and access to the web site via a password. Membership is structured to provide a non-elitist three-tiered system of student, qualified and clinical levels. This structure ensures that all aromatherapists can become members of the society in accordance with Government guidelines. The Society actively participates in the processes of obtaining Voluntary Self - regulation for the aromatherapy profession.

A student member can be anyone studying a certified course in aromatherapy.

A qualified member must hold a certificate or diploma in aromatherapy.

A clinical member must have studied to the minimum level specified in the National Occupational Standards for aromatherapy.
