Ear candling is an ancient technique which has been practiced for thousands of years. It can be very effective in treating ear, throat and sinus problems.

The technique uses narrow candles which are placed inside the ear, drawing out impurities and cleansing out the ear. During the process, the wax is gently stimulated, creating a mild suction which helps draw out the dirt and foreign matter.

Ear candling is an effective treatment for:
  • Excessive wax build up
  • Irritation in the ears or sinuses
  • Regulating pressure or congestion in the head or ears
  • Stimulating energy flow
  • Relaxation and stress reduction
Ear candling is a safe procedure however there are some specific conditions under which one should not undergo the treatment. Consult your GP or ear candling practitioner for correct advice regarding treatment.

During a consultation, the individual will be lying down and comfortable. The candle is placed into the ear canal and then lit. The candle will feel warm but not unpleasant and will be left for a number minutes before changing ears. The entire treatment is relaxing and generally last for half an hour.
