Welcome to The Serenity Clinic
Founded in 2007 by Jean Johnston to promote health and well being by using alternative therapies such as Kinesiology, Emotional Freedom Technique, Clinical Hypnotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. The clinic also offers Stress Management training through workshops and stress awareness sessions. All of the staff have been trained to a very high standard and hold the relevant diplomas and certificates in all of the therapies, which are on offer.
Kinesiology
At the Serenity Clinic this safe, non-intrusive but effective complementary therapy is used to evaluate the body’s structural, chemical and mental status. Using proven safe techniques a Kinesiology session may help promote and maintain a feeling of balance and well being.
Some people consider Kinesiology to be one of the best methods to help uncover the underlying causes of health problems that are difficult to find by any other means.
It can help with more than 80% of all the health problems that most people put up with either because it isn’t bad enough to go to the doctor, or they have sought help but received no relief.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), or tapping, as it is sometimes called, is an alternative therapy that works on the body’s vital energy system in a similar way to acupuncture but without needles.
There is a school of thought that every traumatic or negative experience we have during our lifetime is stored in our body as a mental image called an Engram. It is suggested that these engrams are stored below the individual’s awareness level in other words in our subconscious and can be triggered at any time by a word, smell, colour, touch etc.

Stress Management
The Serenity Stress Management Programme can be tailor made to suit a company's needs. Ranging from 45 min stress awareness sessions to full stress management workshops. The stress awareness sessions, can run continually throughout the day giving a large number of employees the opportunity to learn how to recognise stress in themselves and others, become aware of the effects it has on the body and participate in relaxation techniques, which can help reduce stress levels.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis provides a safe and secure state of mind to help us better understand underlying motivations for emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness and is often referred to as a state of trance. This trance like condition is nothing more that focused concentration, which is achieved by various methods of deep relaxation.
When the mind is concentrated and focused, people are better able to examine the roots of problems, explore promising alternatives and make beneficial changes to enhance their way of life.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviours, not external things like people, situations and events. The benefit of this fact is that we can change the way we think to feel and act better, even if the situation does not change. CBT is a relatively short-term, focused counseling and therapy for a range of problems.
Serenity CBT operates from two clinics, covering the Greater Belfast area and the North Down area.
