ABOUT JEANIE

Jeanie was born in Alaska and raised in the Northwest of the US. She graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2010, and in 2011 had her first baby. During the course of her pregnancy she was introduced to hypnobirthing, and used it whilst in labour.

Hypnobirthing introduced a wonderful new world of how the mind truly controls the body; not just the automatic functions, but the trained functions as well.

She later discovered hypnotherapy as a wonderful companion and support system for effective hypnobirthing, and powerful in its own right as a tool for the betterment of oneself.

Whilst expecting her first child, Jeanie was introduced to Essential Oils. Now, after seven years experience with them, she feels that providing the AromaTouch Technqiue® for others is a wonderful service, as it's an extremely effective vehicle of relaxation.

Jeanie believes that the self-healing abilities of the human mind and body are incredibly powerful, and that "When we simply teach the mind to let the body function as it's meant to, amazing things will happen."

SERVICES

Hypnotherapy

Make the positive changes you want to see in your life. Use hypnotherapy to help you get past the filters and blocks in your mind that keep you from progressing. All hypnosis is self-induced; it is merely a state of intense focus that gives you access to your mind's innate abilities to improve. Whatever problem it is that you or your loved one are struggling with, taking time to meditate and focus will reap massive mental health benefits that will affect every aspect of your life.

In hypnotherapy, you do the work yourself. The therapist is simply guiding you as much as you decide to let them. You maintain control of your mind and body. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. In fact, it is likely you hypnotised yourself today. If any of the following have ever happened to you, then you have already experienced hypnosis.

During hypnosis, the electrical pulses in your brain that fire rapidly when you're awake slow down, and you relax. Brain waves slow from their normal beta range (12-39 hz) to theta range (3-8 hz). During hypnosis you experience a sense of deep relaxation, with your attention narrowed down and focused. Then, appropriate suggestions can be made by the therapist to help you achieve your goals.

The areas we can work on in hypnotherapy are varied and wide. Below are a few common areas of concern.
  • Weight loss
  • Stress and anxiety relief
  • Driving test competence
  • Pain management
  • Overcoming fears and phobias
  • Stopping smoking
  • Confidence building
  • Improved sleep
Lastly, in order for successful hypnotherapy to occur, there must be a sense of trust between the therapist and the client, and the client must be fully committed to making the change. Then, and only then, can changes take place.

What to Expect

Before your first *session you will receive a pre-consultation over the phone, during which you are free to ask whatever questions you choose. Thereafter you will need to fill out a form that begins a self-assessment of where you are, and also allows your therapist to become familiar with you and your situation.

At your first appointment you will come in and meet your therapist, and the session will begin.

A session typically consists of:
  • suggestibility practice (getting your mind used to hypnosis)
  • induction (slowing down your mind and eliminating distractions)
  • deepener (lowering the brainwaves into theta state)
  • therapy work (suggestions for the desired therapy)
  • return to full alertness
*The speed at which your session goes depends entirely upon you, and your receptivity to hypnosis. However, an initial consultation session is approximately one and a half hours, and follow-up sessions typically last one hour.

Sessions are generally offered in the evening as this best suits most work schedules, but if you should require a morning or afternoon session please specify when booking.

Hypnobirthing

Your body
Your baby
Your birth

Birth is a wonderful process where you bring a new life into the world. The time leading up to your birth should be filled with excitement and anticipation, not fear. Learn how to work with your body for a shorter, peaceful, more comfortable birthing experience.

What is Hypnobirthing?

KG Hypnobirthing is an antenatal training programme accredited by the Royal College of Midwives, designed to teach mothers and their partners how to prepare for having a relaxed, comfortable, and informed birth. Hypnobirthing mothers are more likely to experience shorter labour times, minimal pain, and a calmer overall experience.

What's covered in the course

A full KG (Katharine Graves) Hypnobirthing course consists of four classes that are approximately two and a half hours each, totalling between ten and twelve hours of instruction, depending on questions and participation. During the course, you will learn:
  • The physiology of birth
  • What the fear-pain cycle is and how to circumvent it
  • Relaxation techniques designed to work with your body's natural instincts
  • Light massage techniques designed to release endorphins, your body's natural painkillers
  • Breathing strategies to maximise the effectiveness of your uterine surges (contractions)
  • Your options for where and how you want to give birth
  • Visualisation techniques for helping you to focus inward on what is happening within your body and your baby during your labour and birth
  • Your rights as parents when dealing with medical professionals and hospitals
  • The incredibly important role your birth partner plays during the labour and birth
Hypnobirthing is best undertaken as a couple, with both parents present.

What's included in the course
  • 10-12+ hours of instruction
  • The Hypnobirthing Book by Katharine Graves
  • Professional relaxation exercises on your choice of CD or MP3 to practice at home and for use during labour and birth
  • Folder of handouts with relaxation scripts, birthing plan outline, and other information
  • The Dad Pages- flip cards of birthing affirmations for dad to reference and read during practice and labour
  • Instructor access to answer queries or concerns at any time during your pregnancy
  • Certificate of Completion upon finishing your course

Essential Oils

Oils have been used for centuries to promote health. Nowadays we use various oils every day in our lives, for everything from cars to flavorings in food. Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade (CPTG) oils are oils that have passed through a stringent, controlled process, from growth to extracting to bottling. The low-heat extraction method used in collecting these oils means that the natural therapeutic properties from the plants are preserved.

Because quality control for obtaining CPTG oils is so high, only a small percentage of herbs and minerals qualify. These oils are safe for aromatic, digestive, and topical use.

AromaTouch
Relaxation through aromatherapy.

The AromaTouch Technique is an incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The 22 essential oils used in during AromaTouch have been specifically designed to give long-term health benefits. Properly combined with a precise application technique, you will be feeling the benefits of the technique for long after its finished.

Make your appointment in the afternoon to set the tone for the rest of your day, or come in the evening to prepare yourself for a deep, serene sleep. Just let us know which day and time works best for you.
Safe for pregnant women and children.
