Holistic, deep tissue, pregnancy and Thai yoga massage therapy.
Welcome to Sarah Massage Therapy
My name is Sarah Williams and I'm trained in Holistic massage (ITEC) and Traditional Thai Yoga massage (TTYMA).
I've also completed a deep tissue and pregnancy massage workshops so I can apply these techniques where appropriate for my client while staying within their comfort zone.
I first discovered massage after attending an introductory weekend, I instantly became hooked on this powerful therapy. This therapy has the obvious benefits of loosened muscles and a relaxed state of being, there is also the power of touch and the connection that is established through this medium, the feeling of being cared for, and the heightened sense of well-being, all powerful effects of this treatment.
My initial experience of Thai Yoga massage was in India, this is actually where the roots of this therapy come from. The experience of Thai Yoga massage is incredible, the feeling of being held, stretched and massaged in all kinds of directions by the therapist. Thai Yoga creates a feeling of being physically balanced and stretched, as well as more grounded into the body and generally more peaceful and revived. With all the experience that I have gained I continue to be interested in different forms of bodywork and therapy, and intend to bring any training I gain into my treatments to give the most effective results for my clients.
Holistic and Pregnancy Massage:
Holistic massage is an oil based massage that uses Swedish techniques with the emphasis on working with the client rather than on them. The approach used in holistic massage means that the client feels taken care of.
Thai Yoga Massage:
- Stretching and loosening the muscles.
- Stimulating the circulatory and lymphatic system.
- Toning the skin.
- Encourages good digestion.
- Promote feelings of wellbeing, reducing stress-induced states (fear and depression).
- Induce a deep sense of inner peace and tranquillity.
Thai yoga massage is different to most forms of massage as it is performed on a mat on the floor with the client fully clothed. Thai yoga massage could be described as more of a bodywork practice than a massage, as it is also known as lazy persons yoga.
- Stretching the muscles.
- Emotional, mental and spiritual balance.
- Feeling of being grounded into the body, a quieting of the mind.
- Reconnection to the body, especially in cases of neurological disorders (MS, Cerebal Palsy, Stroke.)
