A massage with Revitalising Massage can in the short term, leave you feeling revitalised and energised and in the long term, help reduce the symptoms of stress.

Massage in general has a positive effect on all 12 systems of the body to include muscular, skeletal, skin, lymphatic, digestive, respiratory and nervous system. The benefits of massage are now being recognised in the NHS, because it has a major impact on the body physiologically and psychologically.

Each type of massage can offer something slightly different, but overall it helps reduce stress, anxiety, slows down heart rate and improves breathing. It is said that 75% of disease is due to stress.

Research suggests that receiving a massage after exercise, not only speeds up the recovery of repairing muscles, but it also brings down inflammation in muscles, allowing them to be restored back to their natural state quicker.

Revitalising Massage aims to release tension in tight and overworked muscles, due to physical, mental or emotional activity, so that you feel soothed and relaxed in your own home or at work.

Our Treatments

Swedish (Holistic) Massage

This is a relaxing full body massage, using a range of movements to include effleurage, petrissage, kneading, friction, percussion, vibration and passive joint movements. These can all be used with varying levels of pressure, depending on your individual needs, as each client is different.

.......................................................................................

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is used to focus on particular areas of pain or discomfort to enable relief in deeper muscles. These muscles can hold onto their trigger point for around 90 seconds due to repetitive work, injury or locked emotions and when manipulated and released, the recipient can feel great comfort. People with repetitive jobs can sometimes feel tension or a dull ache in certain muscles, such as people who drive for long periods of time or office workers. This type of massage would be beneficial to those types of people as well as sports enthusiasts and anyone suffering from repetitive muscular pain.

.......................................................................................

Hot and Cold Stone Massage (Geothermotherapy)

Hot Basalt stones are used to penetrate deep into the muscle at a certain temperature and because of the heat, it is said that one stroke with a hot stone is the equivalent of ten manual massage strokes. Stones are placed on top and underneath areas of the body to promote healing and Nicola also alternates the use of hot and cold stones in the palms of her hands, whilst performing massage movements. The hot stones are made from molten lava, because of their excellent ability to retain heat. The cold stones are made from marble, mainly from the ocean, best known for their cool energies. Stone therapy is particularly good for sportspeople and dancers as muscle recovery takes place quicker, due to the penetration of heat in deeper layers of muscles. The energy of the stones help in balancing the chakras, which are linked to the endocrine system and can have a positive and energising effect on the recipient's mood.

Indian Head (Champissage)

Indian Head Massage is an absolute "must have" massage to combat against stress and tension. The effects of stress tend to manifest in the upper back, neck and head and a traditional treatment will focus on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face. Muscles in the head can store tension and when stimulated, can feel great relief, as this is an area which often gets neglected. Full clothing can be worn during treatment, however top clothing can be removed, depending on the recipient's preference.

.......................................................................................

Natural Lift Facial Massage (Facial Rejuvenation)

This massage uses techniques from Indian Face Massage, Facial Reflexology, Japanese Face Massage and Acupressure. The key to a successful treatment are the techniques used, while oil smoothes the skin, showing a positive change and a natural lift in appearance. Facial tension can be released, allowing wrinkles, lines and puffiness to appear reduced. Removal of toxins from the face will also help reduce age spots and improve overall complexion. Whilst plastic surgery has a much more dramatic effect, a Natural Lift Facial Massage is far less expensive and you can stay awake throughout the entire treatment, as it involves simple tapping and stroking movements on muscles, meridians and pressure points. Recipients find this massage extremely relaxing.

.......................................................................................

Prior to massage, a short consultation is carried out to identify any contraindications.

During massage, a massage couch is used. All outcall bookings need to provide a large towel to lie on and a blanket or large towel to keep you warm.

Aftercare advice will be provided after treatment.
