- This in turn requires the perfect functioning of all cells
- A cell's proper functioning depends on its energy supply/production in the form of ATP ( Adenosine-Tri-Phosphate , the cells chemical energy substance)
- The production of ATP depends on a sufficient supply of oxygen and nutrients.

What all this means of course is that
