Health Concerns

If you're faced with a specific condition, a change in life stage or you're just looking to improve your overall health and lifestyle, nutritional therapy can make a big difference.

Clients often say they experience:
  • increased energy levels
  • digestive health
  • mental clarity
  • less infection
  • balanced mood
  • improved body shape
  • stronger skin, hair, and nails
  • improved wellbeing

So, even those who consider themselves healthy can benefit from a personal nutritional therapy consultation.

I can explain to you how the food you eat may be contributing to the way you feel and guide you towards making better choices for your health. I can also help you to remove potentially harmful foods from your diet.

One To One Nutritional Consultations

In a series of consultations, we will discuss your health concerns today, and look at past influences on your health, diet and lifestyle. Consultations are educational, helping you to understand your body and the underlying factors that may be contributing to your health concerns.

Before your initial visit, you will complete a detailed health questionnaire about your health, symptoms, diet and lifestyle. Please Note: You must send back your questionnaire at least 48 hours before your first consultation to get the most benefit from the session.

Initial Nutritional Wellbeing Consultation

We will discuss your questionnaire and look at possible links to the health issues that concern you today.

We will agree your individual plan of gradual dietary and lifestyle changes. The focus is on achievable changes.

Recommendations may include biochemical tests, e.g. food intolerance tests, hormone tests, nutritional and herbal supplements, plus lifestyle changes if appropriate.

You will be given a written report outlining the consultation findings and recommendations made.

You will receive email or telephone support during the first month.

Further Nutritional Consultations

These are held at 4-8 week intervals to assess your progress, make adjustments and give continued support.

They usually last 30 minutes, but the number and duration of consultations will vary depending on the complexity of your health concerns.

They can be held by telephone if this is more convenient for you.

Generally, a minimum of three consultations in all is recommended. After that, an annual MOT may be helpful to keep on track.

About Melanie Fryer - Nutritional Therapist
During 20 years working in investment management, I saw, and felt myself, the effects that stress and poor eating habits can have on people’s health. I saw how poorly we treat the marvelous machine that is our body, and how we continually fail to provide it with the fuel that it needs.

This interest lead me to study Nutritional Therapy at the Institute of Optimum Nutrition in Richmond and I now work as a Nutritional Therapist.

I believe in a sensible, sustainable approach to eating, that allows people to incorporate appropriate diet and health changes into a demanding lifestyle.

I am actively involved in Continual Professional Development, and attend independent seminars and conferences regularly to keep ahead of current developments.

I am a member of BANT (British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy) and a Nutritional Therapy Council Registered Practitioner.

Testimonials

“Following a serous back injury some 18 months ago I had put on a lot of weight, felt tired all the time, had no energy and had serious problems with my digestion. In a matter of two months, following Melanie's advice and guidance, I am eating better, feeling more energised and my digestion problems have disappeared. My health has improved 100% and I now feel able, with Melanie's support , to tackle my weight issues by continuing to follow the advice provided and start to undertake some gentle exercise. Thanks Melanie for improving my health which has enabled me to feel better about life.”

Marie Faber, Tax Accountant, Wickham Bishops

“I must tell you that I had the most interesting and exciting shopping trip yesterday. Where I was buying processed foods I was examining the fat and sugar content. At most places I had a chat with other people who were also buying and convinced a woman to change her choice of brand on a white sauce because of the fat content. It was exciting to feel that I was informed enough to make correct and adventurous choices about my diet, and I felt back in control. So, thank you very much for your informative and equipping talk.”

Vivienne Wiggins, Revival Coaching

I would like to thank you for helping me with all my stomach problems. Now over 25 years later i'm free of cramps, diarrhoea & indigestion. Without the Intolerance test you suggested, I would never have discovered whole Egg was the main part of my problem. Since i have excluded it out of my diet, my body feels renewed. Also, thanks to you, i have better understanding of my digestive system, how different types of food affects its process.Once again, many thanks for all your help and your endless knowledge in nutrition. You will be highly recommended.
