About Us The role of the Faculty
The Faculty of Homeopathy promotes the academic and scientific development of homeopathy and ensures the highest standards in the education, training and practice of homeopathy by statutorily registered healthcare professionals.
A multi-disciplinary membership
Members of the Faculty are dentists, doctors, nurses, midwives, osteopaths, pharmacists, podiatrists and veterinary surgeons who integrate homeopathy into their practice within the bounds of their profession. The Faculty was incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1950 and has over 1400 members worldwide.
Setting standards in homeopathic education
Faculty-accredited postgraduate courses are taught at a number of locations in the UK and overseas. Students are encouraged to sit the specialist examinations which lead to the Faculty's qualifications: LFHom, MFHom, VetMFHom and DFHom. The Faculty's qualifications have a reputation for setting the standard in homeopathic education for healthcare professionals.
An international organisation
The Faculty also publishes Homeopathy, the leading international journal in the field. As well as being an active member of the international homeopathic community, the Faculty is one of the founding members of the European Committee for Homeopathy, which has developed a European code of professional conduct and agreed standards of training in homeopathic medicine in the European Union.
TrainingHelp more patients
Training in homeopathy could allow you to help those problem cases where conventional medicine doesn't seem to have the answer. Many people decide to do a postgraduate course in homeopathy because they feel that their practice is somehow incomplete. Integrating homeopathy into your practice can be extremely rewarding, both in terms of helping more patients and for your own personal development.
Course entry requirements
Faculty-accredited courses are only open to healthcare professionals holding qualifications that are statutorily registrable in the UK. If you hold a BHMS or DHMS you are not eligible to enrol on our courses.
Training locations
Faculty-accredited postgraduate courses in homeopathy are available at teaching centres in Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds and London We also have teaching taking place in Australia, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Russia and South Africa.
Examination
Students are encouraged to sit the specialist examinations which lead to the Faculty's qualifications LFHom, MFHom (for doctors, nurses, dentists, osteopaths and pharmacists), VetMFHom (for veterinary surgeons) and DFHom (for pharmacists and podiatrists).
