Welcome to Eric Demmon's CranioSacral Therapy

I have been a professional therapist since the year 2000. I initially trained in massage, sports massage, shiatsu and then I came across CST (CranioSacral Therapy) and subsequently trained with the Upledger Institute. I found that CST proved to be the most effective treatment for dealing with such things as stress, headaches, back aches, neck pains, ME, migraines, muscular & joint pains, TMJ problems, or just general feelings of being "not quite right”.

How does CranioSacral Therapy work?

CranioSacral Therapy is a very gentle, all-over body treatment that is excellent for soothing away those nagging pains that just seem to hang on. We can get these nags from old injuries, illnesses or past surgery – sometimes we just don’t allow our bodies enough time to completely heal before we have to get back to work or our usual daily routines and responsibilities. Our bodies are sophisticated and can adapt and cope with these challenges, but eventually we may find that pains and discomforts start to occur in other parts of our body. When that point has been reached, we probably should start to really deal with the situation.

CST is also very good at dealing with pains that result from recent injuries and illnesses.

My CST treatment methodology is the same in all cases and that is to palpate the body and feel where the changes need to be made and then just allow your body to make its own adjustments. This is done by applying very small pressures to neutralise the tensions held within your body so that the soft tissues are then able to relax into their own, more comfortable, positions.

CST will give benefits if you are suffering with headaches, migraines, back or neck pains, depression, emotional stress and general feelings of being “out of sorts” - or maybe just a lack of energy, vitality or concentration.

CST for mothers and babies

CST can improve the comfort of both mother and child before and after childbirth. Infantile colic, poor sleep, erratic feeding, anxiety and general restlessness all respond not only very well, but usually pretty quickly, when treated with Cranio-Sacral Therapy. As a mother, CST treatments will help you to become more comfortable as your body progressively changes both during the pregnancy and after the birth itself.

What does it feel like?

You will remain fully clothed and relax on a soft, comfortable couch. My treatment room is quiet and tranquil.
It is a gentle non-invasive therapy; the sensations consist mostly of warm, comforting, light pressures. It is not a massage, neither are there any sudden or painful manipulations. Most people find a CST treatment extremely relaxing.

Is it just a head treatment?

The word “CranioSacral” might seem to imply a kind of head treatment, and it is certainly true that the CST treatment might often be focused around the head neck and back – they are, after all, the main centres of our central nervous system. However, the CST treatment can be applied to any part of the body from, quite literally, head to toe.

How much does it cost?

A one hour treatment will cost you £40 when you are treated in my treatment room in Mulbarton.

You may also be treated in your own home or elsewhere - maybe your place of work. I have a custom built portable treatment couch for this purpose. Prices for this depend on the location and the number of people that would like a treatment on that day.

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, but nonetheless powerful therapy that
will help you to recover from a large range of ailments and conditions.
